Perform cardiothoracic surgical procedures including CABG and valve repairs while managing pre-operative and post-operative care. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including anesthesiology and nursing to provide high-quality patient care in ICU and inpatient settings.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Perform cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including CABG, valve repair/replacement, thoracic resections, and minimally invasive techniques (based on facility needs).
- Provide pre‑operative evaluations, surgical planning, and post‑operative management.
- Conduct inpatient consults, ICU rounds, and follow‑up care for cardiac and thoracic patients.
- Collaborate with cardiac anesthesiology, perfusion teams, intensivists, cardiology, and nursing staff to ensure coordinated, high‑quality care.
- Interpret diagnostic studies such as echocardiograms, CT scans, cardiac catheterization results, and pulmonary function tests.
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to hospital protocols and regulatory standards.
Assignment Details
- Schedule: 7a-7a
- EMR: Epic
- Must be board-certified
- Paid travel & expenses
- A-rated malpractice coverage
Qualifications
- MD or DO with board certification or board eligibility in Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Active state medical license (or ability to obtain)
- Current DEA registration
- Extensive experience in cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures
- Strong leadership, communication, and critical‑care management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
