Locum MD (Medical Doctor), DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Cardiology

Description

This is a contract, on-site position offering an excellent opportunity to provide high-quality cardiovascular care in a collaborative and patient-focused clinical environment.

As a Locum Cardiology Physician, you will deliver comprehensive cardiac evaluations, diagnostic services, and treatment plans for a diverse patient population. Working alongside a dedicated team of healthcare professionals within the Medical Practice industry, you will play a vital role in improving patient outcomes, managing chronic cardiac conditions, and supporting the practice's commitment to clinical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive cardiac evaluations, consultations, and follow-up care for patients
• Order, interpret, and analyze diagnostic tests including EKGs, echocardiograms, and stress tests
• Diagnose and manage a wide range of cardiovascular conditions and chronic cardiac diseases
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient history and clinical findings
• Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, and allied health professionals to coordinate patient care
• Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed medical records in compliance with regulatory standards
• Educate patients and families on cardiac health, prevention, and lifestyle modifications
• Participate in clinical rounds, case reviews, and multidisciplinary team meetings
• Ensure adherence to all safety, quality, and infection control protocols
• Stay current with the latest advancements in cardiovascular medicine and best practices
• Support the practice in meeting patient volume and quality-of-care objectives

Requirements

• MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) degree from an accredited institution
• Associate-level experience in Cardiology or a related clinical setting
• Valid medical license to practice in the state of Fayetteville or eligibility to obtain one
• Board certification or board eligibility in Cardiology
• Strong clinical diagnostic and decision-making skills
• Proficiency in interpreting cardiac diagnostic tests and imaging
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
• Willingness to work on-site in a contract-based capacity
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is preferred
• Prior locum or contract-based clinical experience is a nice-to-have

Schedule: Weekday beeper call coverage, 5p-7a

Cases Per Shift: 2-4

Impella experience required

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified

ACLS, BLS, and DEA required

Paid travel & expenses
