Locum MD (Medical Doctor) Anesthesiology

. This is a contract-based, on-site position offering a unique opportunity to deliver high-quality anesthesia care while working alongside experienced surgeons and healthcare professionals. In this position, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive anesthesia services for a variety of surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the perioperative process. As part of our anesthesiology department, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized anesthesia plans, monitor patients during procedures, and manage postoperative recovery. Your expertise will directly contribute to our mission of delivering exceptional, patient-centered care in a fast-paced medical practice environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-anesthetic evaluations and develop individualized anesthesia care plans
• Administer general, regional, and local anesthesia for surgical and diagnostic procedures
• Monitor patients' vital signs and adjust anesthesia levels throughout procedures
• Manage airway and provide life support measures as needed
• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other medical professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Oversee postoperative recovery and provide acute pain management when required
• Respond promptly to emergencies, including cardiac arrest and respiratory complications
• Maintain accurate and complete anesthesia records and documentation
• Ensure compliance with hospital protocols, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines
• Stay current with advancements in anesthesiology practice and technology

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
• Board certification or active candidacy in Anesthesiology
• Associate-level experience in anesthesiology or a related clinical setting
• Valid medical license to practice in the applicable jurisdiction (or eligibility for licensure)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Strong knowledge of anesthetic agents, techniques, and equipment
• Excellent patient assessment and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, on-site environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with medical teams
• Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and ethical medical practice
• Flexibility to adapt to varying schedules and case types as required for locum assignments

Schedule: Monday-Friday (7a-3:30p)

Call Requirement: Standby call Monday-Friday (3:30p-7a), Saturday 7a-Monday 7a

Patient Volume: 4-8 per shift

EMR: CPRS

Any state medical license accepted

Must be board-certified or board-eligible

Additional Certifications: DEA, ACLS, and BLS

Paid travel & expenses
