JOB SUMMARY
The Loan Support Specialist I provides foundational operational and administrative support for loan servicing and documentation. This role is responsible for executing standardized processes with accuracy, maintaining loan records, and delivering quality customer service while ensuring compliance with established procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Loan Operations & Processing
- Create, organize, and maintain loan files (physical and digital) in accordance with established procedures
- Audit loan documentation for completeness and accuracy based on checklists
- Post and update customer and loan information in core systems
- Process receipt of first payments and maintain supporting documentation
Documentation & Records Management
- Prepare loan packages for digital imaging and ensure proper indexing
- Maintain tracking logs for loan files, imaging, and document custody
- File and retrieve loan records in accordance with retention guidelines
Customer Service & Support
- Respond to basic customer and internal inquiries related to loan accounts
- Assist customers with forms, appointment scheduling, and general servicing needs
- Support lobby flow and coordinate with loan staff for customer assistance
Compliance & Quality Control
- Execute assigned exception reports and escalate discrepancies
- Process Adverse Action Notices (AAN) in accordance with procedures
- Support audit requests by retrieving and organizing required documentation
General Support
- Assist with coverage during staffing shortages as assigned
- Participate in special projects under supervision

QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- High school diploma required
- 1–2 years of experience in financial services, lending, or administrative operations preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Working knowledge of office systems and data entry
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to follow procedures and meet deadlines
