Live-In Caregiver Companion & Dementia Care

Right at Home is looking for a dedicated live-in caregiver to join a coordinated care team supporting a client living with dementia. This role covers Fridays and Saturdays, giving you a predictable, recurring schedule and the chance to maximize your hours in a live-in setting. As you become more established with the client and the care team, there may be opportunities to pick up additional or different days.  

Because you'll be working alongside other caregivers as part of a team, clear communication and reliability aren't just nice-to-haves — they're essential to keeping the client's care consistent and on track. 

The client also has specific, well-established preferences about how her care and daily routine are handled, so this is a great fit for someone who takes pride in getting the details right and building real trust with the people she cares for.

What You'll Do as a Live-In Caregiver 

• Live in the client's home on Friday and Saturday, providing consistent, around-the-clock presence 
• Provide fall-prevention supervision while she walks and moves around 
• Follow her established preferences and routines 
• Handle medication reminders 
• Cook healthy, home-cooked meals 
• Drive her to appointments and errands 
• Offer genuine companionship and kind, patient engagement 
• Gently reorient and reassure her through moments of forgetfulness

Caregiver Schedule 

• Live-in position — caregiver resides in the client's home for two days at a time
•  Fridays and Saturdays, with potential to grow into additional or different days as you become established with the client and care team 
• Structured daily routine with scheduled breaks and designated off-duty time 
• Overnight availability required as part of live-in responsibilities 
• Days off and relief coverage arranged on a consistent, dependable basis

Caregiver Requirements 

• 1+ year of caregiving experience; dementia care experience preferred 
• Comfortable and experienced with live-in caregiving arrangements 
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation — required for driving the client to appointments and errands 
• Mature and calm, with the patience to navigate a client who has specific, well-defined ways she likes things done 
• Warm and kind — genuinely enjoys engaging with an older individual, not just completing tasks around her 
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
