Linden Valley Activities Helper

Position Description

The individual filling this position is responsible for contributing to the mission, vision, and ministries of the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board by fulfilling the following duties, functions, and responsibilities.

General Classification:    Ministry Assistant (Non-Exempt)    Part-time

Immediate Supervisor:    Activities Coordinator                    

Principal Function:       

Essential Functions:    (Employee must be spiritually, physically, mentally, and emotionally able to fulfill these assignments and tasks to fill this position.)

1.    Conduct assigned ministry with “Christ-Like Servant Spirit”, guided by TBMB mission, priorities, strategies, and goals.

2.    Contribute to all phases of responsibilities to the Mission and Objectives of the organization. 

3.    Exercise discipline to complete tasks and work alone with general supervision.

4.    Provide support and assistance to assigned group and other groups within the organization, while building and maintaining positive working relationships.

5.    Work overtime and irregular hours, as necessary.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

6.    Provide support for Activities Coordinator and Assistant in all duties as requested.

7.    Facilitate and assist with all staff-led activities and recreational events.

8.    Able to be certified as a lifeguard for pool and waterfront areas.

9.    Assist in maintaining all equipment for activities.

10.    Perform all other duties as needed or assigned.

Physical Requirements for Individual in Position:

1.    Frequently stands, walks, reaches hands and arms, pushes/pulls, lifts, and carries 30 pounds.

2.    Occasionally squats, crawls, climbs up to 50 ft., reaches above shoulders, kneels, balances, identifies, and distinguishes colors, carries, or lifts up to 50 pounds.

3.    Works around moving machinery, exposed to changes in temperature and humidity, dust, fumes, and gases.

Preferred Qualifications for Applicants:          

Credentials and experience:

1.    Education:  HS diploma, G.E.D., or currently attending high school

2.    Experience:  Some related experience 

Knowledge and Skills:

3.    Care and use of basic recreational equipment such as sports equipment, aquatic equipment, etc.

4.    Good communication skills

5.    Ability to learn office organizational skills and policy and procedures.
