Life Enrichment Assistant

NHC Dickson is seeking a Life Enrichment Assistant to work with our patients.

The Life Enrichment Assistant is responsible for providing recreation opportunities which meet the physical, social, mental, emotional and/or spiritual needs of each patient while providing an atmosphere of fun and enjoyment. The qualified candidate for this position should be mature and self-motivated and have a passion for seniors.

This position is Full time, Monday-Friday 8:30a-4:30p - On call weekends (as needed)

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High school degree or GED
2. Ability to work with elderly patients/residents
3. Willingness to learn new ideas and skills
4. A sense of humor; ability to laugh at success and failure
5. Ability to work with partners, family members, and community
6. Possess patience, good organizational skills, assertiveness and be conscientious
7. Present a professional appearance
8. Be flexible in working hours so that weekend or evening programs will be provided

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Respectful and supportive to supervisor
2. Assist and support the Recreation Director in assessing each patient to determine their activity interests and needs.
3. Assist and support the Recreation Director in providing therapeutic programs which meet each patient's "individual" needs.
4. Assist in providing activities which meet the physical, social, mental, emotional, and/or spiritual needs of each patient while providing an atmosphere of "fun" and enjoyment." This includes the "INDIVIDUALIZED 1 TO 1 PROGRAMS."
5. Assist and support good public relations with the community and with other partners, patients and families.
6. Be aware of NHC Standards and abide by the 20 Better Way Promises.
