Lecturer in History (pre-1900 U.S. History)

The Department of History at Brandeis University seeks an instructor for one 4-credit course in pre-1900 U.S. History to be offered in Spring 2027. Depending on the expertise of the instructor, this course could be offered as HIST 153b Slavery and the American Civil War.

Candidates with a PhD in History and training in pre-1900 U.S. History will be given preference. Interested individuals should submit a cover letter, CV, draft course syllabi, and names and contact information for two references. The deadline for first consideration is October 10.

This appointment is to a position that is in a collective bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local 509. 

The compensation for this course is $8764.20.
