WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

Oversee leave of absence programs to include FMLA; ADA; Pregnancy Worker’s Act; other federal, state, or local-mandated leave; and company leave. Provide operational oversight of third party leave vendor. Administer accommodations programs. Serve as a resource and subject matter expert (SME) on leave management consistent with local, state and federal regulations.

The work location for this exciting opportunity is virtual. The selected candidate will work remotely (100% from home).

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD:    

• Maintain expertise in federal, state, and local leave and accommodation laws, including FMLA, ADA, PWFA, and related regulations, providing guidance on complex employee situations while ensuring compliance and consistent application of policies.
• Manage a high-volume caseload of leave and accommodation matters, facilitating the interactive process with employees, leaders, healthcare providers, and key stakeholders to identify effective workplace solutions and achieve timely resolution.
• Partner with the third-party leave administrator to oversee leave of absence programs, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and a positive employee experience.
• Build strong cross-functional partnerships with HR, Safety, Risk, Legal, and external vendors to implement regulatory changes, policy enhancements, and process improvements that strengthen leave and accommodation programs.
• Analyze leave and accommodation data, metrics, and trends in collaboration with third-party vendors and internal stakeholders, translating findings into actionable recommendations that improve program effectiveness and service delivery.
• Serve as a key liaison among employees, leaders, third-party vendors, Legal, and HR partners to resolve complex and sensitive leave and accommodation matters through effective communication, conflict resolution, and influence.
• Continuously assess program performance and recommend improvements to policies, processes, and service models.
• Deliver guidance, training, and consultation to leaders and HR partners on leave administration, workplace accommodations, return-to-work practices, and related compliance requirements.
• Influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization to drive consistent application of leave and accommodation practices while balancing employee needs, business objectives, and regulatory requirements.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on HR and business initiatives, providing strategic consultation, risk assessment, and recommendations related to leave management, accommodations, and employee support programs. 

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
• Demonstrated experience managing a high-volume caseload of complex accommodation and leave matters in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience partnering with third-party leave vendors.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and consultation skills with the ability to navigate sensitive situations and built trust with employees, leaders, vendors, and cross-functional partners.
• Demonstrated conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
• Proficiency with HRIS, case management, leave management systems, and MS Office applications.
• Experience supporting a multi-state workforce and navigating varying state and local leave requirements.

• Travel: May travel and participate in meetings and conferences throughout chapter jurisdiction, state and Red Cross system.

PAY INFORMATION: 
The starting annual salary range for this position is $75K - $90K. We do not offer an annual bonus for this role. 

Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. **We will review specific salary information at the time of phone screening based upon your location & experience.**

This job will be posted for a minimum of five business days and extended if the applicant pool needs to be expanded. This position is not eligible for relocation.
