Lead IT Architect

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior IT Architect based in United States.

As a Senior IT Architect, you will contribute to the technical design, development, and modernization of enterprise-scale systems within a Microsoft-focused technology environment.
You will combine architectural leadership with hands-on software engineering to build secure, scalable, resilient, and maintainable solutions.
Working across application, integration, data, and infrastructure layers, you will help shape technical direction for complex and mission-critical systems.
The role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, business analysts, and development teams.
You will design cloud and integration solutions, develop production-grade code, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and support modernization initiatives.
You will also provide technical guidance to developers and communicate architectural tradeoffs clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
This is a fast-paced environment where sound technical judgment, engineering quality, and reliable delivery are essential.

Accountabilities:

• Contribute to solution architecture across application, integration, data, and infrastructure layers within a Microsoft-centric technology ecosystem.
• Design scalable, secure, resilient, and maintainable systems using modern architectural approaches, including layered, domain-driven, event-driven, and service-oriented architectures.
• Ensure technical solutions align with enterprise standards for security, performance, observability, compliance, and long-term sustainability.
• Evaluate and recommend technologies, frameworks, and architectural patterns appropriate for complex enterprise environments.
• Serve as a senior technical authority for assigned initiatives and make sound technical decisions supporting engineering teams and project objectives.
• Design, write, review, and optimize production-grade software using C#, .NET/.NET Core, ASP.NET, Web APIs, and related technologies.
• Apply and promote coding standards, engineering best practices, and design guidelines while participating in code reviews.
• Perform deep technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex application and system issues.
• Design and implement Microsoft Azure solutions across compute, storage, messaging, and integration services.
• Architect APIs and system integrations using REST, messaging, and event-driven patterns.
• Support data architecture and persistence strategies using SQL Server and related relational data technologies.
• Contribute to application modernization efforts, including legacy system refactoring and cloud-native or hybrid architecture initiatives.
• Partner with business analysts and stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Manage assigned technical activities within project plans while supporting delivery quality and timelines.
• Provide technical guidance and actionable feedback to developers without formal people-management responsibilities.
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design decisions, and operational guidance.
• Communicate technical tradeoffs, risks, and design impacts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, system design, and application architecture.
• Extensive experience with the Microsoft technology stack, including C#, .NET/.NET Core, ASP.NET, Web APIs, service-based architectures, SQL Server, and relational data modeling.
• Proven experience working as both an architect and hands-on senior developer on large and complex systems.
• Strong background designing and supporting enterprise-scale, mission-critical applications.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure, including relevant compute, storage, messaging, and integration services.
• Experience integrating internal and external systems through APIs, messaging, and event-driven architectures.
• Strong understanding of software design principles, architectural patterns, performance optimization, security, and maintainability.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve high-complexity technical problems effectively under delivery pressure.
• Demonstrated ability to influence technical direction and promote engineering quality through sound technical judgment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts and architectural tradeoffs clearly.
• Experience modernizing or integrating with legacy platforms is preferred.
• Experience with data conversion and large-scale system migrations is advantageous.
• Experience working in highly regulated or data-intensive enterprise environments is preferred.
