Lead AI Video Editor

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead AI Video Editor based in United States.

This role combines hands-on video editing with creative team leadership in a fast-paced performance marketing environment.
You will create high-volume, short-form ads designed to capture attention and drive measurable results on Meta.
Using advanced AI video tools, you’ll transform scripts, briefs, and references into polished, authentic-looking creative.
You’ll experiment with emerging technologies while mastering AI-generated UGC, product integration, animation, hooks, pacing, and sound.
As the team grows, you’ll also lead editors, manage creative KPIs, coach performance, and help scale the editing function.

Accountabilities:

• Produce 15–20 short-form paid ads per week, typically 15–60 seconds, for Meta campaigns.
• Turn scripts, briefs, and reference videos into engaging performance-focused creative using AI video and editing tools.
• Create realistic UGC-style advertisements using AI-generated voices, actors, scenes, graphics, and other visual elements without relying on real UGC.
• Integrate real products naturally into AI-generated scenes, including realistic lighting, positioning, overlays, and visual continuity.
• Develop scroll-stopping hooks, strong pacing, captions, music, sound design, and other elements that improve viewer engagement.
• Continuously evaluate and adopt emerging AI video technologies and workflows to improve creative output and production speed.
• Source footage, B-roll, reference material, and other visual assets efficiently from online resources.
• During the initial 2–4 weeks, focus primarily on editing to understand the brand, creative standards, hooks, and winning formats.
• As the team expands, manage editors and ensure weekly production and quality KPIs are consistently achieved.
• Conduct regular 1:1s and team check-ins, provide feedback and coaching, and address performance issues proactively.
• Support hiring decisions and team growth, including bringing on additional editors as production volume increases and managing underperformance when necessary.
• Own creative output KPIs and collaborate with marketing stakeholders to identify patterns in successful ads and address recurring creative issues.
• Be available on weekends when production volume requires additional support.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience editing short-form paid advertisements, particularly UGC, DTC, or performance-focused creative.
• 1+ year of experience managing editors or other creatives in a paid-media or agency environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with AI video tools such as Higgsfield, Runway, Kling, Flow, and Sora, with the ability to independently learn new platforms as they emerge.
• Proficiency with CapCut or Adobe Premiere, with After Effects experience.
• Demonstrated ability to combine AI-generated footage with real product assets so the final result appears natural and seamless.
• Strong understanding of short-form advertising principles, including hooks, pacing, captions, audio, visual storytelling, and audience retention.
• Ability to source footage, B-roll, and reference clips quickly and efficiently using online resources.
• Comfortable working at high speed under changing priorities, tight turnaround times, and same-day creative iterations.
• Strong written and spoken English, with the communication skills needed to lead meetings, provide feedback, and coach team members.
• Strong understanding of creative performance and, ideally, familiarity with advertising metrics.
• Experience personally editing videos that have received real Meta advertising spend is a plus.
• Reliable computer capable of handling demanding video rendering and editing workloads, along with a stable internet connection.
• Comfortable working with Slack, Google Drive, and project management tools such as ClickUp.
