Omnilex started by building the AI workspace lawyers actually want to use, including the world's first AI-powered legal commentary, a living layer of legal understanding that redefines how lawyers work. In just one year, that product became the daily tool of thousands of legal professionals across Switzerland, Germany, and Liechtenstein, and a leading legal AI workspace in those markets.

Now we are using that foundation to build something even bigger: an AI-native law firm in the US. Every case its lawyers solve becomes a productized, AI-native service: legal capability that scales, compounds, and can be deployed on demand for the next client. With a USD 4.5M raise, we're scaling internationally. You'll be joining a small, ambitious team of 17.

The role

You are the firm's first lawyer advising banks, funds, and insurers out of New York

You will run real mandates for sophisticated financial-sector clients: regulatory, transactional, and advisory work where the answer is not in a template and the client is paying for judgment. Non-contentious by design. We will litigate too.

And every matter you solve becomes a product. Working directly with the managing partner, founders, and our engineers, you turn your own expertise into AI-native services the firm can deploy for the next client in a fraction of the time. That is the whole thesis, and you are the person who proves it.

This is a firm to be built, not a seat to fill. You will shape the practice, the client base, and how the work gets done.

What you will do

Client work

• Advise banks, asset managers, funds, and insurers on regulatory, transactional, and structuring questions across US and cross-border mandates

• Own matters end-to-end: scoping, analysis, memos, documentation, negotiation, regulator-facing work

• Be the trusted counterpart to general counsel, heads of compliance, and in-house teams

Productizing the practice

• Turn each matter into a reusable, AI-native service: the analysis, the precedents, the decision logic

• Work side by side with our engineers to build the tooling that does the work with you

• Set the quality bar and the review standards that make AI-produced legal work defensible

Building the firm

• Help stand up the New York practice: structure, intake, precedent library, engagement terms

• Develop the client base together with the founders, from first conversation to signed mandate

• Bring in and mentor the lawyers who follow you

This list will not stay static. As the firm grows, so does your scope.

Who you are

• Admitted to the New York bar, with a clean disciplinary record

• Several years at a leading US firm or in-house at a bank, fund, or insurer, with real ownership of financial-sector matters

• Deep in at least one of: banking and financial regulation, funds and asset management, insurance regulatory, structured products, or financial transactions

• Advisory and transactional by temperament.

• Commercially sharp. You can read what a client actually needs and price and scope the work accordingly

• Entrepreneurial. The prospect of building a firm from the first mandate is the reason you are interested

• Native/fluent English, based in or moving to New York

Bonus:

• Existing relationships with GCs or compliance leadership at banks, funds, or insurers

• Cross-border experience with European financial institutions
