Reports To: Director of Laundry Services

FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt

Position Summary:

The Laundry Assistant processes, cleans, folds, and delivers facility and resident laundry in compliance with infection control standards, ensuring sufficient and clean supplies for resident comfort and dignity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain separation of soiled and clean laundry per infection control policies.
• Operate washers and dryers according to facility procedures and manufacturer instructions.
• Handle residents’ personal laundry with care, ensuring proper return to owners.
• Stock linen carts and closets, maintaining organization and accessibility.
• Assist in preparation for surveys and inspections.
• Report equipment issues and safety concerns promptly to supervisor.

Required:

• Functional literacy and ability to follow instructions.

Preferred:

• Laundry experience in healthcare or hospitality environment.

Physical & Work Requirements

• Prolonged standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
• Ability to lift 5–40 lbs and push carts up to 300 lbs with assistance.
• Exposure to heat, humidity, and odors in laundry areas.
