The Lab Assistant is responsible for performing phlebotomy procedures, blood cultures, and bedside testing for patients in the Emergency Department. They also assist with clerical duties including patient registration, specimen processing, and quality assurance documentation.

Job Details: Job Location: Onslow Memorial Hospital - Jacksonville, NC, Position Type: Full Time 0.8, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Job Shift: Night, Responsible for phlebotomy procedures to include bleeding time test, blood cultures, obtaining blood samples from neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients; performing glucose testing at the bedside; and performing waived or moderate complexity Point of Care testing at the bedside for patients in the Emergency Department. Also assists in clerical duties of the department; including patient registration, specimen processing, and quality assurance documentation as needed.
Qualifications: Education/Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of an approved phlebotomy course.
Current BLS certification.
Experience:
Previous laboratory experience (in a hospital setting preferred).
