KO739 - Full-Time Nanny - Upper East Side/Hamptons, NY

Overview

A wonderful Upper East Side family is seeking a warm, energetic, experienced, and highly reliable full-time nanny to join their team and life. 

The family has 15-month-old daughter and a 3-year-old son, and are looking for someone who is confident caring for young children, engaging with them throughout the day, and creating a fun, nurturing, and structured environment. The schedule is Wednesday through Sunday from 7 am until 7 pm with the occasional later evening. 

They have a full-time nanny Monday–Friday, approximately 7:00am–7:00pm so you will be overlapping with her. 

During the summer, the family spends approximately three months in East Hampton, where the position would become live-in Wednesday–Sunday. Transportation between New York and the Hamptons is generally via the Jitney. The family may also travel throughout the year, including to Florida, Colorado in December, and Europe, so flexibility and a valid passport are important.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, loving, and hands-on care for our young children
• genuinely enjoys working with children and takes an active interest in their development, education, manners, and day-to-day growth.
• Engage the children in age-appropriate games, arts and crafts, reading, outdoor play, and educational activities
• Support early childhood development and help prepare the children for their next stages of school
• Reinforce good manners, kindness, independence, and age-appropriate boundaries
• Create and maintain consistent daily routines and schedules
• Help coordinate and communicate around the children's schedules, activities, appointments, and school commitments, including use of the family's Skylight schedule
• Handle children's laundry and help keep the children's areas, toys, and belongings organized and tidy
• Work collaboratively with the family's existing full-time nanny and household staff
• Communicate clearly and proactively with the parents about the children's days, needs, schedules, and development
• Be comfortable working in a household where one parent works from home several days per week
• Travel with the family as needed

Qualifications

• Driving experience / clean driving record strongly preferred
• Spanish language skills are a major plus
• Warm, nurturing, patient, and genuinely engaged with children
• Organized, tidy, dependable, and proactive
• Confident teaching manners and encouraging positive behavior
• Able to establish structure without being overly strict, overbearing, or bossy
• A strong communicator who works well as part of a team
• Comfortable working alongside another full-time nanny
• Respectful of the parents' role and able to take direction while also using good judgment and initiative
• Comfortable with parents working from home
• Flexible and willing to travel with the family

Requirements

• Significant professional nanny experience with toddlers and young children
• Excellent, verifiable references
• Strong communication skills
• Reliable and highly responsible
• Valid passport and ability to travel internationally
