Kids Place Gym Teacher

Position Summary

The Kids Place Gym Teacher is responsible for planning and leading fun, engaging, and age-appropriate physical fitness activities and gym games for children in grades K–6 participating in the Kids Place After School Program. The Gym Teacher will create a positive, safe, and inclusive environment that encourages children to be active, develop physical skills, and enjoy being part of a team.

Essential Responsibilities

• Plan and lead a variety of age-appropriate and developmentally appropriate gym games, sports, and physical fitness activities for children in grades K–6.
• Create engaging activities that encourage participation, teamwork, cooperation, and physical activity.
• Supervise children at all times and maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.
• Effectively manage a group of children in an active gym or recreational setting.
• Adapt games and activities to accommodate different ages, skill levels, interests, and abilities.
• Provide clear instructions and demonstrate activities and proper use of equipment.
• Follow all JCC policies and procedures, including safety, supervision, child protection, and emergency procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience working with school-aged children in an active, recreational, educational, or sports setting preferred.

Ability to effectively supervise and engage groups of children.

Monday through Friday 2 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Some weekend, holiday and evening hours required.
