Overview

Sensibly Sprouted is seeking a Junior Lead, Team Leadership to help build, lead, and sustain a high-performing Dietetics business unit.

The Junior Lead is a developmental leadership role with real supervisory responsibility. The role is designed for candidates who demonstrate leadership readiness and the capability to take responsibility for people, performance, operations, and business outcomes while continuing to develop the complete judgment and independence required to operate at the Lead level.

The Junior Lead progressively assumes ownership of a Dietetics team as a business unit, developing capability across team performance, retention, profitability, hiring, talent development, performance management, and business operations.

What You’ll Do

The Junior Lead progressively develops responsibility and authority for a Dietetics business unit, including:

• Develop ownership of team revenue, profitability, Net Profit Margin, and overall business-unit performance
• Build and maintain a stable, productive, high-performing team
• Coach and develop team members through structured 1:1s, feedback, performance management, and professional development
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, staffing, team composition, and talent decisions
• Monitor provider- and team-level performance through KPIs, dashboards, and operating systems
• Identify performance, capacity, retention, and operational risks and develop appropriate corrective actions
• Reinforce clinical, documentation, scheduling, and operational standards
• Partner with Clinical Excellence to address training and competency gaps
• Manage workflows, priorities, accountability, and execution across the team
• Develop financial judgment and an increasingly sophisticated understanding of the relationship between staffing, production, revenue, expenses, and profitability
• Build the leadership judgment, communication, and decision-making capability required for independent Lead-level responsibility

The role includes supervisory authority over direct reports and progressively increasing authority for business-unit P&L, hiring, performance management, team composition, FTE, productive capacity, workflows, and operating execution.

Qualifications

Candidates will be evaluated based on demonstrated readiness for the Junior Lead role rather than prior title, education, credentials, or years of experience alone.

Team Leadership is not restricted exclusively to Registered Dietitians. Candidates must demonstrate the capability required for the Junior Lead role, and credential-dependent responsibilities remain subject to applicable credential, licensure, and scope-of-practice requirements.

Role Structure & Development

Junior Lead is a developmental Team Leadership role. The Junior Lead progressively assumes responsibility and authority as capability is demonstrated while receiving greater leadership support and oversight than an established Lead.

There is no fixed standing patient-care requirement. Junior Leads who hold the credentials required to provide patient care may continue patient care as needed while building productive team capacity. Junior Leads who do not hold the required clinical credentials may also qualify for the role and operate within the responsibilities permitted by their role and credentials.

Junior Leads must complete at least four quarters in the role before becoming eligible for evaluation for advancement to Lead. Completion of the measurement period does not guarantee advancement; advancement requires demonstrated Lead-level capability and sustained performance across applicable Team Leadership metrics.

Performance Expectations

Junior Lead performance is evaluated through key business-unit outcomes:

• Team Net Profit Margin (NPM)
• Team Revenue
• Team Retention
• Productive Capacity

Operational drivers include provider productivity, scheduling utilization, provider capacity and schedule availability, documentation timeliness and accuracy, hiring and onboarding execution, and team composition and stability.

Compensation

Junior Lead is a developmental role. Initial base compensation is determined based on demonstrated readiness, directly transferable leadership and business capability, and relevant experience.

Base compensation does not progress within the Junior Lead range based on development, increased proficiency, time in role, or progress toward Lead readiness. Successful development is primarily recognized through advancement to Lead when the applicable requirements are met and organizational need supports advancement.

Placement toward the upper end of the range is uncommon and reflects unusually strong directly transferable leadership and business capability at entry while the candidate still appropriately requires Junior Lead development.

• Review of experience relevant to the Junior Lead scope
• A Junior Lead selection interview

For internal candidates, consideration includes supervisor nomination and review of demonstrated performance, leadership readiness, and relevant experience.

External candidates are evaluated through the applicable hiring and selection process to determine whether prior experience and demonstrated capability establish equivalent readiness for the Junior Lead role.

Final selection is determined by the Chief Dietetics Officer based on demonstrated readiness for the complete role.
