IT Support Center Technician - Annex (Student)

SUMMARY: Provide technical support, both in person and on the phone, for BJU computer systems by troubleshooting and resolving issues, by deploying hardware and software components, and by providing answers to questions related to support.

Applicant would need to start during the semester. Work is available during the summer if desired.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide solutions to users’ issues with computer hardware and software
• Answer customer calls to the IT Support phone line and provide assistance
• Research computer and software issues and offer resolutions
• Maintain documentation
• Pursue self-education/development to enhance skills and abilities
• Must be punctual and accountable
• Other tasks as assigned by supervisor

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Must be enrolled as a student at Bob Jones University 
• 18 years old with a valid driver's license preferred
• Good customer service skills
• Strong communication skills
• Aptitude for training and developing users
• Ability to proactively identify tasks that need to be done
• Ability to follow instructions and to pay attention to details
• Working knowledge of basic MS Office applications
• Desire and aptitude to learn new technologies
• Must (occasionally) lift/carry up to 20 lbs. and /or push/pull up to 25 lbs.
