Investment Analyst Intern - Summer 2027

Tommy’s is looking to hire an Investment Analyst intern within Tommy’s Express Capital, a corporate and capital strategy division which forms and manages private funds that accelerate growth for Tommy’s and its franchise partners. The Investment Intern will play a critical role in multiple deals and be closely involved with finance/investments, fundraising, investor relations, growth strategy, real estate, and franchise development at the Tommy’s corporate level.

Tommy’s internship program offers hands-on work experience, the opportunity to participate in team meetings and projects, exposure to leadership and team members company-wide, a fun and engaging work environment, valuable learning and development on multiple topic areas, and a competitive hourly pay rate. The summer program will run from middle of May through the first week of August. 

Position Responsibilities:

• Internship Program Participation

• • Participate in team meetings and projects to enhance processes, innovation, drive company measurables, and learn about the organization 
  • Support team in meeting team objectives by owning or assisting with various projects 
  • Track progress on work and projects in order to provide updates to management as needed 
  • Attend learning and development opportunities to grow professionally and learn about the Tommy’s brand 
  • To conclude internship, prepare a presentation to showcase your work to others within the internship program and team members company-wide  

• Financial Modeling and Analysis

• • Build and maintain complex financial models to analyze different business cases, investment structures, debt covenants, and investor returns
  • Conduct industry, market, and company-specific research and analysis to support financial forecasts and strategic decision-making
  • Assist with the development of financial models to inform asset acquisition / sale decisions
  • Prepare detailed financial projections and forecasts

• Document Preparation
• Draft presentations, pitch decks, and investor communications
• Review and analyze legal documents, such as term sheets, lease agreements, and debt/equity agreements
• Growth Strategy
• Help identify, evaluate, and execute growth strategies  (e.g., international growth efforts, strategic partnerships)
• Explore creative financing solutions for franchise partners
• Team Support
• Work collaboratively with franchise development, real estate, data & analytics, and other team members across the organization
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and support with administrative and logistical tasks as needed

Position Qualifications & Candidate Attributes:

• Pursuing bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Business
• Strong academic performance
• Technical savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office; including Excel and PowerPoint
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Process-oriented and strong collaborator with ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organization and across various departments
• Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to multitask and prioritize workload 
• Highly adaptable with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills; ability to exercise good judgment and make sound data-backed decisions

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

This role operates in a professional office environment located at our headquarters facility in Holland, MI. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am - 5:00pm. We will help connect selected candidates with temporary housing options at the expense of Intern.

• Remain in a stationary position 50%+ of the time, alternating between sitting and standing
• Ability to move and lift up to 30 pounds
• Drive between company locations and/or vendors or suppliers as needed while on job
