SUMMARY: This position is responsible for recruiting, scheduling, and training interpreters and translators for agency clients.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

Recruits and screens for qualified interpreters and translators. 

Serves as primary liaison between the agency, client, and interpreters. 

Responds to requests for interpretation in a timely, professional manner. 

Provides new interpreter orientation and ongoing training and capacity building opportunities for interpreters. 

Develops and conducts training for staff, employers, and community groups on the effective use of interpreters. 

Through regular community engagement, explores, identifies and secures new clients for interpretive services 

Maintains system of scheduling, notification, confirmation, and evaluation of job requests. 

Maintains and updates database of available interpreters. 

Sends quarterly satisfaction surveys to gather insight for program development and maintain contact with past and prospective clients 

Contributes to program growth through researching new interpreter opportunities, conducting outreach and attending community resources events 

Files correspondence, forms, and documents pertaining to interpreters and vendors 

Attends scheduled team meetings and agency training 

Represents the Agency in the community and workplace in a professional and ethical manner. 

Demonstrates sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.  

Demonstrates strong interpersonal, decision-making, problem-solving, oral, and written skills. 

Utilizes basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.  

QualificationsEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent required with three years of related experience.
