Investment Banking Summer Analyst

Fireclay Partners is building a technology-native investment bank. Summer Analysts join live deal teams and are expected to combine rigorous financial thinking with a builder's instinct. You will use AI, programming, automation, structured data, and proprietary technology to produce better work—not simply replicate legacy banking processes faster.

What You Will Do

• Support pitch materials, information memoranda, buyer lists, data rooms, and other workstreams for live and prospective M&A transactions.
• Conduct market, company, and competitive research and translate it into clear analysis.
• Build valuations using public comparables, precedent transactions, and discounted cash flow methods.
• Work with bankers to structure data, improve research quality, and automate repeatable tasks.
• Develop or improve a useful tool, workflow, or automation during the internship.

Who Thrives Here

• Students with an outstanding academic record in finance, accounting, economics, computer science, engineering, applied mathematics, statistics, data science, or a related field.
• Demonstrated interest in investment banking and genuine curiosity about how technology can improve professional judgment and execution.
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, analytical writing, communication, and attention to detail.
• A builder mentality and evidence that you have built, automated, or programmed something useful—such as a script, application, model, data workflow, or research tool.
• Sound judgment: you verify sources, calculations, assumptions, and AI-assisted outputs and handle confidential information with discipline.

Prior banking experience is helpful but not required. We care about intellectual horsepower, initiative, judgment, and the ability to learn quickly.
