Job Summary

Join RailPros as a Track Engineering Intern and gain hands-on experience in the exciting field of rail transportation infrastructure. This internship offers a unique opportunity to support the planning, design, and engineering of railroad track projects while working alongside experienced industry professionals. As a valued member of the team, you will assist with track geometry analysis, engineering calculations, design development, and project documentation, while gaining exposure to industry standards and best practices.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Assist engineers in designing various rail and civil engineering projects.
Perform alignment, draining, utilities, at-grade crossings, and earthwork design using AutoCAD,  Microstation, InRail.
Cost estimating, specifications, and construction submittals review.
Assist in preparation of rail and civil plans for freight, commuter, and transit projects.
Limited field observation on project sites before, during, and after construction.
Work closely with project managers to execute project deliverables.

Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Proficiency with electronic communication (e-mail, text) and standard office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
Basic oral and written communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
Teamwork and collaboration skills.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work.
Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.

Required Education and Experience

Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
0-2 years’ experience  

Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
