Intern: Technical Support Services (Spring 2027)

• Support and Communicate Project deliverables: Achieve technical project timelines, milestones and deliverables as directed by Technical Service Manager (TSM).  Support TSM in communications regarding project statuses to stakeholders.

• Maintain a focus on high-quality output: Support technical deliveries as they relate to our products and provide predictable, repeatable outcomes for dealers and customers.  Adoption of an outside in perspective as it relates to meeting dealer and customer requirements.

• Document technical requirements and outcomes: Work with Technical Service Manager and Technical Training Manager to learn and deliver product information to applicable stakeholders across Uptime Operations, Customer Support and Trucks Technology teams.

• Engagement in Training Activities:  Support and participate in hands on product trainings and provide feedback for improvement.  Learn product details and problem-solving techniques on behalf of a dealer/customer.  Understand dealer network requirements as they relate to product support.  Work with Technical Support Services leadership to identify additional areas of technical interest to ensure meaningful experience and learnings related to educational and business goals.

• Project completion: Provide final presentation of assigned project at the end of the internship to Uptime Operations teams that demonstrates value for internal teams as well as dealer/customer.

Mission/Purpose of the Job

The purpose of this internship is to support Technical Services projects as they relate to uptime of our products for our customers via dealer technical support.  It will coordinate and support technical activities/ projects from initiation through completion while interacting with technical teams and business stakeholders. The goals are to deliver high-quality, proactive services in partnership with the dealer network and drive our strategic goal of being #1 in customer satisfaction for our products and in our services support.

This internship will support activities for both Mack and Volvo brands, creating an aftermarket competitive advantage with a focus on reducing customer downtime and strengthening key deliverables for Uptime initiatives.

Requirements: 

• Pursuing an Associate's Degree in Diesel/Automotive/Engineering Technology or equivalent field/technical experience (Heavy Duty Truck/Diesel).
• 2 or more years of experience in heavy truck electronics and engine diagnostics preferred.
• Demonstrated Customer Service/Experience focus is a plus.
• Spring interns may work up to 30 hours per week. 
• Must be in good academic standing with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.75.

For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $17.00 - $46.00. The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
