Position Overview
NextCure is seeking a dedicated Summer Intern to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will assist in the cultivation and maintenance of monoclonal antibody-producing cell lines, contributing to the development and production of therapeutic antibodies in our laboratory.
Key Responsibilities
- Cultivate and maintain mammalian cell lines for monoclonal antibody production.
- Perform aseptic cell culture techniques such as passaging, seeding, and harvesting cells.
- Conduct routine cell culture assays to monitor cell viability, growth, and productivity.
- Assist in the scale-up of cell culture processes from small-scale to large-scale production.
- Prepare and sterilize laboratory equipment and materials for cell culture experiments.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot cell culture issues and implement process improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of experimental procedures, results, and observations.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a PhD degree program in Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Biology or a related field.
- Enrollment and/or experience at Johns Hopkins preferred.
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and cell culture practices.
- Previous laboratory experience is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Automation/robotics experience a plus.
Pay Range & Benefits
$25-28 hourly
