WORK ASSIGNMENT DETAILS

Waukesha County's Department of Public Works, Facilities Management Division, is seeking a student in the architectural, engineering or closely-related field to collect and enter information into the County's automated facility management system, verify architectural, electrical and mechanical systems, and prepare or update building AutoCAD drawings.

Pay Rate: up to $21.52 per hour depending on qualifications

Work Schedule: up to 30 hours per week, allowing for flexibility around school schedules and the Facilities Division's work hours.

Term: this is a temporary position, lasting approximately 3 months, up to 12 months. It may be extended dependent upon performance, budget, and County needs; however, it will not go beyond 6 months after graduation.

Prior to hiring, candidates are required to pass a background check conducted by our Sheriff's Department.

CLASSIFICATION SPECIFICATION

Interested candidates will currently be enrolled in an architectural, engineering, or closely-related field post-high school degree program (i.e., Associate, Bachelor, Master) and possess the following:

• familiarity with AutoCAD and knowledge of various buildings related software systems;
• a basic understanding of buildings, construction and related systems.
• ability to read, create, and have an understanding of architectural systems and blueprints;
• ability to locate information on current buildings and equipment;
• reliable and dependable;
• accuracy and attention to detail;
• ability to work independently; and,
• ability to maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, and other staff.
