Purvis Industries is seeking motivated and enthusiastic Interns to join our team at various branch locations. This internship provides hands on exposure to multiple areas of industrial distribution operations, including customer service, inventory management, warehouse operations, product knowledge, and sales support. Interns will gain valuable industry experience while developing professional skills and learning the fundamentals of industrial distribution.

Job Responsibilities

• Interact with customers in person, by phone, and through email communications.

• Learn to accurately identify products and applications.

• Develop knowledge of vendor product lines and supplier relationships.

• Assist with receiving, inspecting, and stocking incoming freight.

• Pull, stage, package, and ship customer orders.

• Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory management activities.

• Support warehouse operations and maintain an organized work environment.

• Learn product terminology, part numbers, and industry specific applications.

• Assist branch personnel with daily operational activities as needed.

• Maintain a professional image while representing Purvis Industries.

• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Currently pursuing a degree from an accredited two year or four year college or university, preferred.

• Previous experience in plant maintenance, manufacturing, warehouse operations, or a related field is beneficial.

• Mechanical aptitude preferred.

• Ability to complete the internship in person at an assigned Purvis Industries location.

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.

• Ability to lift and move products and materials as needed.

• Ability to work safely in a warehouse and industrial environment.

• Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks associated with warehouse and inventory activities.
