Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) Therapist- Women’s Health

Responsibilities

SummitRidge Hospital is a leading behavioral health psychiatric hospital dedicated to providing comprehensive mental health and substance use disorder treatment for adolescents, adults, and seniors, in addition to partial hospitalization and other outpatient programs (includes a location in Athens). 

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Contract IOP Therapist – Women’s Health.  Due to continued growth, we are pleased to announce an opportunity for a skilled and compassionate IOP Therapist to join our clinical team.  Provide high-quality, evidenced-based care remote; focused on addressing the physical, social and emotional needs of women, including reproductive health, menopause, postpartum issues, trauma, and gender-specific mental health concerns.

Responsibilities include program development, three nights per week group facilitation, suicide risk assessments, biopsychosocial assessments, treatment planning, and discharge planning. Collaboration with treatment team including psychiatrist, medical internist, and pharmacy team. Establishing curriculum that focuses on cognitive, emotional, and physical changes that occur prenatal, perinatal, postpartum and during perimenopause and menopause.  This includes but is not limited to sleep disturbances, weight management, brain fog, health and wellness, professional challenges, depression, and anxiety. 

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate structured IOP group therapy sessions (process, psychoeducation, skills-based)
• Provide individual and family therapy as clinically indicated
• Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries
• Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
• Monitor client progress and adjust treatment interventions as needed
• Collaborate with internal team members and external referral sources to ensure continuity of care
• Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and utilization reviews
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory, ethical, and organizational standards
• Support crisis intervention and risk assessment when necessary

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
• Active and unrestricted licensure (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or equivalent)
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
• Knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care)
• Excellent documentation and organizational skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in an Intensive Outpatient (IOP), Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), or similar level of care
• Background in mental health, substance use disorders, or co-occurring disorders
• Experience facilitating group therapy
• Familiarity with insurance requirements and medical necessity criteria
• Clinical experience with treating unique women’s health needs is strongly preferred
