SPRING SEMESTER I JANUARY-MAY (PART-TIME)
• Complete John Deere University (JDU) coursework
• Learn Operations Center, GPS, guidance systems and connectivity
• Shadow Integrated Solutions specialists
• Answer customer calls and learn support processes
• Build skills needed for summer field work
SUMMER SEMESTER I MAY-AUGUST (FULL-TIME)
• Support equipment setup and delivery
• Assist customers remotely and in the field
• Perform software updates and machine technology checks
• Help troubleshoot Precision Ag systems during planting and harvest
• Work directly with growers and dealership teams
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
• Precision Agriculture, Agricultural Technology, ASM, Agribusiness, Information Systems or related majors
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Passion for agriculture and technology
INTERNSHIP GOAL

QualificationsStudents currently enrolled in AG Tech programs or Solutions Based Program. This is a hands-on position will initially be an in-office position in Martinsburg PA but will be required to travel to a variety of locations in the area. Hours are flexible during school but will be and 8-5 M-F during Summer months.

Our relationship with John Deere dates back to 1938, when Fred J. Slezak started a dealership in New Alexandria, in the basement of a chicken coop. In 1976 after a period of being closed his son Frederick restarted the business, creating Lone Maple Sales & Service, Inc. – which is now our New Alexandria location. Frederick’s son and current President, David took over in 1980 and ran the single location until 2007 when he partnered with Joel Wineland and Rodney Metzler of Wineland Equipment, another long standing John Deere Dealer to form West Central Equipment. Two years later in 2009 Scheffel Equipment in Somerset was acquired. Then four years later in 2013 we opened our Butler location. We are proud to announce that as of April of 2017 we have opened our 5th location in Ebensburg. Our 5 locations serve 18 counties in Pennsylvania, Northern Maryland and West Virginia.
