INSTRUCTOR OF BUSINESS - MARKETING

POSITION OVERVIEW

Reinhardt University invites applications for the position of Instructor of Business with a focus in Marketing. This is a renewable 9-month faculty appointment in the McCamish School of Business & Professions. The position reports through the academic leadership of the University and is expected to contribute actively to teaching, advising, service, student success, and the continued growth of Reinhardt's business programs.

Primary duties include teaching a full course load during the fall and spring terms in on-ground and online formats. Teaching assignments will be based on departmental needs and the candidate's qualifications and may include Principles of Marketing, Digital Marketing, Buyer Behavior, Business Research, Sales Management, Personal Selling, and Marketing Management, as well as other business courses appropriate to the candidate's academic preparation and professional experience. Opportunities may exist to teach additional courses during summer or other terms when enrollment and University needs support additional sections.

The successful candidate should demonstrate a commitment to effective collegiate teaching and the use of active, engaged, and applied learning strategies. Particular value will be placed on the ability to connect marketing theory with contemporary professional practice, including digital marketing, consumer insights, sales, market research, analytics, and strategic marketing decision-making. Candidates with meaningful industry experience are especially encouraged to apply, as the program values faculty who can bring current, real-world marketing and business perspectives into the classroom.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Teach effectively all assigned courses in on-ground and/or online formats during fall and spring terms.
Teach undergraduate marketing courses and other business courses consistent with academic credentials and program needs.
Develop engaging, applied learning experiences that connect marketing concepts to current business practice.
Incorporate appropriate contemporary marketing tools, digital platforms, data, analytics, research methods, and emerging technologies into instruction.
Serve as an academic advisor and mentor for business and marketing students, including students exploring majors and career pathways.
Assist with assessment of student learning and the development of strategies for continuous program and instructional improvement.
Support student retention and success initiatives, including timely outreach to students who may be academically at risk.
Participate in program, school, and University meetings and serve on faculty and University-wide committees.
Contribute to student recruitment, program promotion, community engagement, and other enrollment-related initiatives.
Maintain professional growth within the discipline and remain current with developments in marketing, business, and university teaching.
Participate in faculty governance and contribute as an active member of the University community.
Follow established University policies, procedures, academic deadlines, and administrative requirements.
Perform additional appropriate duties as assigned in support of the mission of the University.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required: An earned master's degree in marketing, an MBA, or a closely related business field from a regionally accredited institution, with at least 18 graduate semester hours in marketing or another discipline appropriate to the assigned teaching responsibilities.

Preferred: Significant professional or industry experience in marketing, sales, digital marketing, market research, brand management, business development, or a related business area is highly valued. Collegiate teaching experience and experience teaching in online or hybrid formats are preferred but not required. Candidates whose professional experience provides substantial applied expertise are encouraged to apply even if their academic background does not align perfectly with the preferred profile, provided they meet applicable University and accreditation requirements for the courses assigned.
