Job Title: Virtual Sales Representative - Valero

About the Role/Team:

The Virtual Sales representative is responsible for generating leads, cold calling and winning new business accounts for one of WEX’s fleet partners: Valero. 

This role focuses on cold calling B2B prospects, uncovering and understanding the complex needs of these prospects, providing them with a WEX Valero solution that meets their needs for today and tomorrow.

Your role is to cold call B2B prospects to drive in new business ensuring a seamless process from cold-calling to close/won deals through to customer account activation. 

How you will make an impact:

• Minimum of 50 cold calls a day.

• Superior organizational time management and workflow skills. 

• Excellent Management of your Book of Business: Maintain accurate and up to date records of all activities including sales calls, presentations, prospect meeting, sales stages,  and follow-ups, using Salesforce, Salesloft and Googlemeets Video, Google Appointment Schedule to maximize portfolio potential.

• Proven track record of having built a strong  pipeline of new prospects to achieve and exceed monthly and annual sales, revenue goals.

• Ability to Identify prospects  via cold calling  

• Anticipate and be skilled in pivoting through prospect objections to move the conversation forward.

• Use open ended discovery questions to uncover and identify  prospect problems, challenges and unique requirements  related to fleet and fuel management.

• Provide  WEX’s Valero offerings, product features and benefits to solve the potential clients’ needs.

• Analyze transaction history for referred prospects and make informed product recommendations based on both their data and geographic locations 

• Book meeting with prospects to review proposal and/or pricing presentations that identify prospective customers’ business problems and use  Valero  solutions to solve their problems.

• Work with customers to obtain and submit detailed business information required by WEX Bank for account approval to a close/won stage.

• Coordinates with internal customer onboarding teams the implementation and delivery of products to new customers.

• Build and maintain relationships with internal teams 

• Develop close contacts with customers and establish a comprehensive customer experience that includes consultation and analysis.

• Maintain knowledge of Valero, its fuel card program offerings, the fuel card program, payment, fuel industry, relevant ancillary WEX products  and the competitive landscape.

• Seeks out additional training on new products and provides feedback to the product development group regarding customer challenges and potential modifications or new products that could resolve those challenges.

Experience you will bring:

• A minimum of 2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Must pass a successful background check.

• Proficient computer skills including Salesforce (CRM), Salesloft, Google Suite, Gmail, Word, and Excel. 

• Comfortable communicating with people at all levels

• Partner facing experience, preferred

• Strong sales skills and knowledge of the Integrity Selling AIDINC Sales model.

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required.

• Understanding of the fleet and fuel management business.

• Locations: Ability to either work remotely from a dedicated home office or WEX’s Portland, Me or Nashville, TN locations

• Availability to support occasional work travel, up to approximately 5-10% per year

Comp Budget: 29.20 USD Hourly ($60,736 annually) + commission

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan. Pay Range: $21.70 - $29.20
