Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital is a Joint Commission-accredited psychiatric hospital. Located in the heart of beautiful Panama City, Florida, Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital provides mental health services to children, adolescents, adults, active-duty service members and their families and veterans.
Position Overview:
- Role: PRN BC General Psychiatrist
- Patient Population: Ages twelve and older, adult, adolescent, older adult and military populations, comfort seeing all ages is required
- Schedule: PRN weekends and vacation coverages, PRN floater on different units as needed for vacation coverages
- For weekend PRN, Saturday and Sunday require on-site presence and tele-phonic call after hours, while Friday coverage can be managed by tele. The role primarily involves conducting initial psychiatric evaluations, with follow-up visits and very rare discharges on weekends.

Requirements:
- BC in General Psychiatry required. BC preferred.
- Active or eligible for FL medical license
- Commutable distance or local area psychiatrists required.
- Comfort with seeing ages twelve and older is required.

With confidentiality and sensitivity, our inpatient programs allow patients to begin treatment in an intensive and secure therapeutic environment where they are cared for 24 hours a day by our team of compassionate and highly trained professionals. Treatment includes medication management, individual, group and family therapy, classes in coping skills and a wide variety of therapeutic activities, such as expressive therapy, art and music therapy, recreational therapy and yoga therapy. Our clinical staff utilizes a range of evidence-based treatment, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) strategies and Prolonged Exposure (PE). Our goal is to stabilize acute symptoms as quickly as possible so patients can continue treatment in a less restrictive, outpatient environment.
