Position Title: BE/BC Inpatient General Psychiatrist
Location: Panama City, FL
Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital is a Joint Commission-accredited psychiatric hospital. Located in the heart of beautiful Panama City, Florida, Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital provides mental health services to children, adolescents, adults, active-duty service members and their families and veterans.
Position Overview:
- Role: Full-time Inpatient Psychiatrist, Adult Unit
- Patient Population: Daily caseload will be adult populations but must be comfortable and willing to treat ages 12 and older for weekend call
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, daytime hours, onsite only
- Weekend Coverage: 1:4 Saturday/Sunday in-person rounding and telephonic call
- Weekday Call: One evening call shift per week by phone only.
- Employment Type: Full-time employed salary with benefits or fee for service options
- Additional earnings potential: Extra call options and Productivity Bonus Plan for employed W2
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct admission evaluations, develop treatment plans, and provide ongoing treatment follow-up for child and adolescent patients.
- Participate in daily treatment team meetings.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.
- Complete required patient documentation and notes in accordance with facility guidelines.
- Supervision of NP
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive base salary for full-time W-2.
- Fee for service option is available

Qualifications:
- Education: M.D./D.O. with Board Certification in General Psychiatry, BC in Child/Adolescent Psychiatry a plus.
- Training: Successful completion of an accredited Psychiatry residency and Child/Adolescent fellowship program a plus.
- Licensure: Florida medical license and DEA in good standing or eligibility to obtain it.

Located at the main campus is our 86-bed inpatient psychiatric hospital and outpatient center. Emerald Coast Behavioral Hospital also has three satellite outpatient centers located throughout the Florida Panhandle: Blue Springs Outpatient Center in Marianna and Okaloosa Outpatient Center in Fort Walton Beach. With confidentiality and sensitivity, our inpatient programs allow patients to begin treatment in an intensive and secure therapeutic environment where they are cared for 24 hours a day by our team of compassionate and highly trained professionals. Treatment includes medication management, individual, group and family therapy, classes in coping skills and a wide variety of therapeutic activities, such as expressive therapy, art and music therapy, recreational therapy and yoga therapy. Our clinical staff utilizes a range of evidence-based treatment, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) strategies and Prolonged Exposure (PE). Our goal is to stabilize acute symptoms as quickly as possible so patients can continue treatment in a less restrictive, outpatient environment.
