Position Summary

• Pro Industrial Services is seeking experienced Industrial Erectors – Structural Steel & Equipment to support industrial construction, maintenance, and equipment installation projects throughout Texas.
• This position is ideal for an experienced ironworker, industrial erector, millwright, or mechanical installer who is comfortable working with both structural steel and industrial equipment. The successful candidate will have hands-on experience erecting structural steel, rigging and setting equipment, reading drawings, performing field layout, and working safely around cranes and other lifting equipment.
• Projects may include power generation facilities, gas and energy facilities, industrial plants, terminals, manufacturing facilities, and other heavy industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities

Structural Steel Erection

• Erect structural steel, miscellaneous steel, equipment supports, platforms, stairs, ladders, handrails, and related components.
• Install structural members using cranes, forklifts, telehandlers, chain hoists, come-alongs, and other lifting equipment.
• Bolt, fit, plumb, level, and secure structural steel.
• Perform field measurements and layout.
• Read and interpret structural drawings, erection drawings, shop drawings, and project specifications.
• Install equipment platforms, pipe supports, access structures, and miscellaneous steel.
• Assist welders with fit-up and preparation of structural components when required.

Equipment Setting & Installation

• Rig, move, position, and set industrial equipment.
• Assist with installation of pumps, compressors, motors, vessels, skids, tanks, heat exchangers, fans, generators, and other industrial equipment.
• Understand basic equipment alignment and leveling requirements.
• Assist with equipment installation using precision rigging and mechanical lifting techniques.
• Work with millwrights, mechanics, welders, pipefitters, and other trades to complete equipment installations.
• Follow equipment manufacturer's installation requirements and project specifications.

Rigging & Material Handling

• Perform basic to advanced rigging activities associated with steel erection and equipment installation.
• Select appropriate slings, shackles, spreader bars, chokers, and other rigging equipment.
• Inspect rigging equipment before use.
• Understand load capacities, center of gravity, lifting points, and safe lifting practices.
• Assist with crane and heavy-equipment operations by communicating with operators and maintaining a safe work area.
• Safely move and position materials and equipment.

Industrial Construction & Maintenance

• Work in active industrial facilities and construction environments.
• Assist with equipment removal, replacement, installation, and modification.
• Perform demolition and dismantling activities when required.
• Install temporary supports, platforms, bracing, and other construction components.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas.
• Follow project-specific work procedures and client requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of industrial construction, structural steel erection, equipment installation, millwright, ironworker, or related experience.
• Demonstrated experience erecting structural steel.
• Demonstrated experience rigging and setting industrial equipment.
• Ability to read and understand structural and mechanical drawings.
• Ability to use tape measures, levels, squares, and other common layout tools.
• Working knowledge of rigging practices and lifting equipment.
• Ability to safely work at heights.
• Ability to work in industrial facilities and construction environments.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a crew.
• Reliable transportation to project locations.
• Ability to pass required client drug and alcohol screening.
• Ability to meet site-specific safety and training requirements.
• Demonstrate ability to follow and complete documentation required by company or client.
• Demonstrate ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

• NCCER Ironworker or Millwright certification.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30.
• Qualified rigger certification.
• Signal person certification.
• Forklift certification.
• Aerial lift certification.
• Crane/rigging experience.
• Welding or burning experience.
• Experience with equipment alignment.
• Experience working in power plants, refineries, chemical plants, gas plants, LNG facilities, terminals, or other heavy industrial facilities.
• Experience working from structural and mechanical drawings.
• Experience working with precision measurement and alignment equipment.

Ideal Candidate

• Shows willingness and flexibility to practice or perform additional crafts outside applied scope.
• The ideal candidate is a hands-on industrial construction professional who can move between structural and mechanical work.
• You should be comfortable receiving a set of drawings, laying out the work, rigging the materials, erecting the steel, and assisting with setting and positioning equipment.
• We are particularly interested in candidates who have progressed beyond traditional ironworker duties and have developed experience with industrial equipment installation, rigging, alignment, and mechanical construction.
• Capable and/or willing to learn how to draft process, procedures and trainings view word processor.

Physical Requirements

• Lift and carry materials and tools weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work from elevated platforms, scaffolding, ladders, and aerial lifts.
• Work in confined and industrial environments.
• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work for extended periods.
• Work outdoors in varying Texas weather conditions.
• Wear required personal protective equipment.
• Work around heavy equipment, cranes, industrial machinery, and construction activities.
• Maintain situational awareness in active industrial environments.

Safety Requirements

• Follow Pro Industrial Services safety policies and procedures.
• Follow all client and facility-specific safety requirements.
• Participate in Job Safety Analyses (JSA/JHA), pre-job meetings, and toolbox talks.
• Properly inspect and use tools, equipment, and rigging.
• Maintain required PPE.
• Stop work when an unsafe condition is identified.
• Report hazards, incidents, near misses, and equipment deficiencies.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Never bypass safety procedures or required controls.

Work Environment

• Work will primarily be performed at industrial and commercial construction sites throughout Texas.
• Projects may be located at:

• Industrial manufacturing facilities
• Energy terminals
• Compressor stations
• Processing facilities
