Job Details: Job Location: Answers in Genesis HQ - Erlanger, KY, Position Type: Internship, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Job Category: Internship, The Embark Internship Program contributes to the spiritual, personal and professional development of the student. As the Illustrator Embark Intern the student will use a variety of creative tools to produce high-quality illustrations that present the transformative truths of God’s Word and His world in visually engaging and faith-affirming ways. This internship will provide opportunities to learn about event and attraction production in a working environment. This position will allow one to impact others through a service mindset centered on making an eternal difference.

This position should display our Core Values of SERVE (Serve, Equip, Relate, Value, Engage) when interfacing with both internal and external customers to ensure that the message and mission of Answers in Genesis is portrayed in an effective and God-honoring fashion.

Responsibilities

Create engaging illustrations for a variety of audiences and projects, including books, activity pages, signage, posters, and presentation slides.
Promote the mission and standards of Answers in Genesis.
Create a SERVE culture environment in all work done.
Approach all tasks with a second-mile mindset.
Prioritize personal integrity in all interactions and assignments.
Participate in development courses provided for Embark Interns.
Participate in apologetics courses provided for Embark Interns.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications: Requirements

Strong proficiency with digital illustration applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Clip Studio, and Procreate.
Comfortable working within a digital illustration workflow.
Strong understanding of fundamental visual principles, including composition, eye flow, framing, perspective, and color theory.
Confidence in illustrating a variety of subjects, including human anatomy, animals, environments, and spot illustrations.
Versatility across a range of visual styles, with the ability to accurately match established styles.
Ability to develop and iterate on concepts, exploring multiple approaches and presenting a variety of options.
Willingness to adapt artwork to meet specific creative, editorial, and project requirements.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, priorities, and deadlines.
A fast learner who can adapt to new tools, methodologies, and processes with minimal coaching.
Receptive to feedback and able to refine artwork based on direction while maintaining a high standard of quality and craftsmanship.
Must agree with and be able to sign our Statement of Faith.
Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Regularly attends a local Bible-believing church.

Education & Experience

Must have a minimum of 45 College Credits.
Currently pursuing a degree in Illustration, Visual Communication, Design or a related field.
Strong portfolio demonstrating creative problem-solving, technical proficiency, and effective visual communication.
No professional design experience required; academic and personal projects are welcome.
