Job Description
I am looking for someone to help me around the house with cooking and cleaning, going shopping, and going to medical appointments. I need some assistance with transferring, but I am independent. I am a spry, older lady who enjoys talking and being around people, though I also like quiet time.
I am looking for assistance during the week some mornings 7-9am, some evenings 4-8pm, and some 8hr shifts during the week and on weekends.
Applicants must have an IHSS provider number for Santa Cruz County, have a reliable car, a valid California Driver’s License, and have some caregiving experience.
I know others in need of IHSS assistance and would be happy to connect successful caregivers to others in need of support for additional hours, if desired.

Recovery Café Santa Cruz (RCSC) provides a healing community for individuals recovering from life's traumas, including homelessness, addiction, mental health challenges, and incarceration. Built on the proven and effective model developed by the original Recovery Café in Seattle, Washington, RCSC delivers a community of belonging through peer-to-peer support groups (“Recovery Circles”), classes in life and job skills, social activities, nutritious meals, and access to needed services and resources. The Café is a place where all are welcomed warmly, and given the time and space to identify and address their challenges and goals.
Recovery Cafe began in Seattle in 2003, and has now become a national movement, with new Cafes opening across the nation. Each is its own, locally established, independent nonprofit organization, supported and nurtured through the Recovery Cafe Network.
Members of the Santa Cruz start-up team include former leaders of Recovery Cafe San Jose's successful launch, mental health professionals, and recognized experts in homelessness in Santa Cruz.
We have established relationships with elected leaders and potential partner organizations, and begun the process of incorporating as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit while under fiscal sponsorship.
We envision a world where our members heal and learn coping strategies to live fulfilling, stable, and healthy lives. Please join in supporting us as we prepare for opening in late summer 2020.
