IEE and Tactical Sales Associate

Job Details: Job Location: BSC Dayton OH - Wright Patterson AFB, OH, Salary Range: $18.73 - $22.90Hourly, Job Summary:

Responsible for supporting military personnel, government customers, and installation organizations with tactical equipment, organizational clothing, individual equipment, and mission-support supply requirements.

This position combines federal sales, customer service, tactical product knowledge, inventory management, and business development to grow the Base Supply Center’s tactical business while ensuring customers receive responsive, compliant, and mission-ready solutions.

The position serves as a key liaison between installation customers, the Base Supply Center, vendors, distributors, and internal departments and is expected to proactively develop relationships and identify new sales opportunities throughout the installation.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Tactical & Individual Equipment Sales

Serve as the primary BSC resource for tactical equipment, organizational clothing, individual equipment, deployment supplies, and related mission-support products.
Assist customers with identifying products that meet operational, technical, and procurement requirements.
Prepare quotes, identify compliant alternatives, confirm availability, and communicate anticipated lead times.
Coordinate special order and non-stock tactical requirements.
Maintain familiarity with commonly requested military tactical equipment and emerging customer needs.
Follow customer requirements from initial inquiry through order completion and delivery.

Business Development & Customer Outreach

Proactively develop relationships with military units and installation organizations.
Conduct regular outreach to understand upcoming deployments, exercises, training requirements, and operational needs.
Identify new customers and opportunities for the BSC to support tactical and mission-related purchases.
Follow up on open quotes and customer opportunities.
Promote BSC capabilities to Government Purchase Card holders, resource advisors, supply personnel, contracting personnel, and other government customers.
Participate in customer events, vendor demonstrations, product showcases, and installation outreach activities.
Identify opportunities to expand tactical sales and increase overall BSC utilization.

IEE & Mission Support

Develop strong working relationships with Individual Equipment Element personnel and other installation logistics organizations.
Assist in identifying equipment solutions for individual issue and organizational requirements.
Support customer requirements for deployment, training, readiness, and mission-essential equipment.
Research product specifications, availability, pricing, and compliant alternatives.
Maintain awareness of changing military requirements that may impact product demand.

AbilityOne & Federal Procurement Compliance

Promote AbilityOne and SKILCRAFT products whenever applicable.
Assist customers in understanding mandatory-source requirements.
Identify AbilityOne alternatives that satisfy customer requirements whenever available.
Maintain working knowledge of federal procurement priorities and purchasing requirements.
Support purchases through appropriate channels including BSC, GSA, BPAs, government contracts, and other authorized procurement methods.
Maintain awareness of TAA, Berry Amendment, and other applicable sourcing requirements.

Product & Vendor Management

Develop productive relationships with tactical manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers.
Obtain pricing, availability, technical information, and product documentation.
Identify new vendors and products capable of expanding the BSC’s tactical offerings.
Evaluate product substitutions and alternatives when requested items are unavailable.
Coordinate product demonstrations and vendor engagement opportunities.
Assist with maintaining accurate tactical product information for internal systems, catalogs, and e-commerce platforms.

Inventory & Operational Support

Monitor tactical inventory levels and customer demand.
Recommend stocking levels based on historical sales, anticipated requirements, and customer feedback.
Assist with receiving, organization, inventory counts, and product accountability.
Identify obsolete, slow-moving, damaged, or discontinued products.
Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, accounting, customer service, and management to resolve order or inventory issues.
Maintain an organized, professional, and mission-ready tactical sales area.

 
Qualifications: Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, supply chain, operations, sales, or a related field preferred.
Previous experience in federal sales, military logistics, tactical equipment, government supply, retail operations, inventory management, or customer service preferred.
Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered.
