Job Description

The Human Resources Manager plays a critical leadership role within the HR team, overseeing HR operations across multiple facilities. This position focuses on strategic partnership with site managers, providing full-spectrum HR support including employee relations, compliance, training, performance management, and talent acquisition.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing HR across multiple locations and will bring a proactive, hands-on approach to supporting organizational growth and maintaining a positive, compliant workplace culture. While this role does not include direct reports, the HR Manager will be instrumental in leading key HR initiatives, fostering strong employee engagement, and driving continuous improvement across all HR functions.

Essential Role Functions

Serve as the primary HR partner for assigned facilities, providing expert support on all HR-related matters.
Oversee daily HR operations, including employee relations, recruiting, onboarding and offboarding, benefits administration, performance management, leave of absence management, compliance, and employee training.
Act as a strategic advisor to managers and employees, offering guidance on HR policies, employee relations, and career development initiatives.
Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations and internal company policies.
Manage and resolve complex employee relations matters, conducting thorough and impartial investigations as needed.
Lead talent acquisition efforts by collaborating with department leaders to attract, interview, and hire high-quality candidates.
Administer the performance management process, providing coaching to managers on effective feedback and development planning.
Support organizational development through workforce planning, talent management, and succession planning strategies.
Maintain accurate HRIS records and generate reports to support compliance, operational metrics, and leadership decision-making.
Implement and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks aligned with best practices and evolving business needs.
Champion a positive, inclusive, and engaging workplace culture reflective of company values.
Conduct I-9 audits, ensuring full compliance with federal documentation requirements and audit standards.
Conduct new hire orientations and facilitate learning and development initiatives across all levels of the organization.
Administer employee benefits programs, support payroll processes, and maintain HR-related systems and records.
Collaborate with HR leadership on investigations, conflict resolution, and employee engagement strategies.
Drive diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives to promote a respectful and inclusive work environment.
Perform additional HR duties and projects assigned.

Work Experience/Requirements for This Role

Minimum of 7 years of HR experience, preferably in food manufacturing/production or a startup environment. 
Minimum 2 years of HR Manager experience 
Demonstrated ability to work independently as a self-starter, taking ownership of projects and driving initiatives to completion with minimal supervision
Demonstrated expertise in managing HR functions across multiple facilities
Strong understanding of employment laws (federal, state, and local) and HR compliance
Proficiency in HRIS systems and payroll administration. 
Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution and coaching skills. 
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism. 
Ability to build trust and credibility quickly with employees and leadership
Bilingual (Spanish/English) 

Schedule

Days: Monday to Friday (flexibility on weekends if required).
Hours: 8 AM to 4:30 PM (flexibility as needed).
Work Location: Multiple Locations (i.e. New Jersey, Toronto)
Travel: Some Travel to assigned facilities is required.
