Program start: Tuesday, May 25, 2027, with limited flexibility for academic calendars

Duration: 10 weeks, with the possibility of extending up to two additional weeks based on business needs and intern availability

As a Human Resources (HR) Intern at MacLean-Fogg, you will connect classroom learning with the work of supporting employees and managers in a manufacturing business. You will work with HR professionals and teams across the facility to understand employee needs, improve processes, and make information easier to use.
You will take ownership of a meaningful project with guidance from an experienced team. Depending on your assignment, you might improve an onboarding resource, analyze a recruiting process, support a learning initiative, or help make employee communications clearer and more accessible. At the end of the program, you will present your work, findings, and recommendations to leadership.

Assignments vary by location and may include:

Recruiting and Onboarding: Support candidate coordination, onboarding resources, or improvements to the new-employee experience.

You do not need prior experience in these areas. Not every assignment is available at every location.
What You Will Do

Learn the HR processes, systems, and employee needs relevant to your assignment.

Gather and organize information, check its accuracy, and identify opportunities for improvement.

Help prepare clear employee or manager resources for review by the HR team.

Support coordination of recruiting, onboarding, learning, or engagement activities.

Use spreadsheets or other tools to analyze information and communicate findings.

Listen respectfully to employees and work with the HR team to direct questions to the right person.

Protect confidential information and use only the records needed for your assigned work.

Document progress, follow through on commitments, and ask for guidance when a matter requires an experienced HR professional.

Follow facility safety requirements and present your project results and recommendations.
What You Bring

Enrollment in a bachelor's or master's degree program in human resources, business administration, organizational development, psychology, industrial or organizational psychology, communications, or a closely related field.

Interest in supporting employees and improving how people experience work.

A thoughtful approach to solving problems and checking your work.

Willingness to ask questions, learn from feedback, and work with people in different roles.

Ability to organize information and explain your reasoning clearly.

Availability for a full-time, on-site summer internship. Limited start-date flexibility may be available for academic calendars.
All college class levels are welcome. Previous internship experience is not required. Coursework, projects, volunteering, student activities, and other jobs can demonstrate your potential.
Helpful, but Not Required

A cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Coursework or projects involving human resources, organizational behavior, communication, research, or data analysis.

Experience using Excel or another tool to organize and analyze information.

Experience coordinating activities, creating clear written resources, or helping a group improve a process.

Housing Assistance
At approved locations, eligible interns may receive a one-time $3,000 taxable housing allowance. To qualify, your available summer residence must be more than 50 miles from the worksite, you must need temporary housing for the internship, and you cannot receive equivalent company-provided housing or relocation support. Payment occurs after the internship begins and required documentation is complete.
