As an intern at HUB, you’ll be part of our collaborative culture where your contributions matter and your growth is supported. This internship is specifically designed to give you exposure to the many career opportunities within the fast-growing insurance brokerage industry. 

Our rotational design will allow you to gain hands-on experience working alongside our Commercial Lines (Business Insurance), Personal Lines, Employee Benefits, and Retirement & Private Wealth teams, learning the ins and outs of our business of each group while exploring areas like client service, sales, and more. 

Throughout the program, you’ll learn directly from industry experts across risk, insurance, employee benefits, retirement, and wealth management, building both your professional skills and the foundation for a successful future career.

Full-time, paid, June 1 to August 6 (10-week) internship working out of our Chicago, Illinois office.

Program Highlights 

• Pathway to a Career at HUB: Our internship program is designed to identify and develop future talent. High-performing interns may have the opportunity to pursue full-time roles across HUB’s U.S. locations following graduation.  

• Connect with Industry Leaders: Build your network and learn from experienced professionals across HUB. Through our Speaker Series and other networking opportunities, you’ll gain exposure to leaders, fellow interns, and professionals from across the United States while developing a deeper understanding of the insurance industry.  

• Meaningful, Hands-On Experience: Make an impact from day one by contributing to real business priorities and projects. Bring your ideas, collaborate with your team, and gain practical experience that connects your learning to the business.  

• Professional Development: Build skills that will support you throughout your career through workshops, learning sessions, and networking opportunities focused on communication, problem-solving, leadership, and professional growth.  

• Mentorship & Support: Learn alongside experienced professionals who will provide guidance, share their expertise, and help you navigate both your internship experience and the insurance industry.  

• Experiences Beyond the Office: Your internship is about more than your day-to-day role. Participate in volunteer initiatives, social activities, networking opportunities, and local experiences designed to help you build connections, explore the industry, and have fun along the way.  

• Make an Impact in Your Community: Collaborate with fellow interns on a local service initiative that gives back to the communities where we live and work. Select projects may also receive a donation to support their chosen nonprofit or charitable organization.  

• Scholarship Opportunities: Eligible interns may have the opportunity to apply for a scholarship through the Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers (CIAB), providing an additional opportunity to demonstrate their potential and commitment to a future in the insurance industry. 

Day-to-Day Responsibilities may Include:  

• Client Engagement: Collaborate with our sales and service teams to work with clients and communities across the United States to understand unique regional needs. 

• Policy Administration: Gain hands-on experience in managing policies, endorsements, renewals, data management, and assisting in claims processing.  

• Market Research: Support analysis of United States insurance markets and regional trends.  

• Technical Training: Participate in workshops and training sessions to strengthen your skills and industry knowledge.   

• Reporting: Prepare reports and presentations to communicate project updates, findings, and recommendations to internal stakeholders.  

What you will bring to the role -  

• College students with a Fall 2027 or Spring 2028 graduation. 

• A positive attitude and enthusiasm to learn about the insurance industry.  

• Excellent verbal & written communication skills  

• Strong organizational skills, adept at prioritizing and handling multiple tasks.  

• A collaborative team player with a desire to help others.  

• Independent and self-motivated, capable of autonomous work

The expected hourly rate for this position is $22.00 per hour and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level. HUB International is proud to offer a robust total rewards package that could include employee health and welfare benefits and paid time away perks based upon the status of the offered position and physical work location. HUB classifies its intern positions as temporary status which means interns could qualify for paid time off benefits such as sick and/or vacation accruals provided under applicable law, as well as relevant unpaid time off benefits.  In addition, all interns are eligible to participate in extensive personal and professional development programming.
