HOURS: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM. Initial training will be conducted on day shift for approximately 1–2 weeks from 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM. Upon transition to second shift, a $2.00/hour shift differential will be added to the base hourly rate.

JOB SUMMARY:The EHS Specialist is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the health, safety, and environmental practices within our manufacturing facility. The role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining safety and environmental programs that ensure compliance with regulations and promoting a culture of safety within the organization. The EHS Specialist works closely with all levels of staff to identify risks, mitigate hazards, and continuously improve safety performance.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ·         Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs in line with local, state, and federal regulations including compliance with OSHA.

·         Conduct risk assessments and audits to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.

·         Develop and enforce policies and procedures that promote a safe working environment.

·         Lead and investigate accidents/incidents, injuries, and near misses, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence in a timely manner.

·         Monitor and track safety performance metrics (e.g., lost-time injury rate, accident frequency) to ensure continuous improvement.

·         Lead safety training, meetings, awareness campaigns, and toolbox talks to foster a culture of safety by promoting engagement, accountability, and responsibility at all levels of the workforce.

·         Collaborate with other departments (e.g., production, maintenance) to implement improvements and resolve safety issues.

·         Ensure the facility complies with all environmental laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., waste disposal, air quality, water use, hazardous materials). Prepare environmental reports for regulatory bodies and other stakeholders.

·         Develop, implement, and regularly update emergency response plans for various scenarios (e.g., fire, chemical spill, workplace accidents). Conduct drills and ensure employees are familiar with emergency protocols. Maintain emergency response equipment and materials.

QUALIFICATIONS: Work Experience:  ·         2+ years of experience in health, safety, and environmental management within manufacturing, oil & gas, or construction. 

Education: ·         High School Diploma or equivalent·         Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST), Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) certifications) preferred.
