HR Business Advisor

Job Summary:

As the day-to-day partner, the HRBA serves as a consultant to management and employees on Human Resource and related business. The Human Resources Business Advisor is primarily responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the human resources department within a Business Unit. This role will support employees primarily in United States and Mexico. The role will be reporting directly to the HR Director. This role is equally HR-focused and business-based and is very well-suited to an individual who can see the big picture and execute all the necessary steps toward continued business growth and achievement of goals. The HRBP will provide a service-oriented approach to HR and will be responsible for overseeing employee lifecycle management, including recruiting, talent management, annual compensation, and the bonus processes, The HRBP will gain and maintain an effective level of business acumen about the business unit’s financial position, culture, and competition. This is a remote preferably based in the vicinity of El Paso, Texas with regular travel between the United States and Mexico.

Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities  

• Serve as the business subject matter expert regarding all Human Resource policy including guidance, development, and interpretation 
• Provide support on business unit restructuring and organization design. Facilitate new workforce planning 
• Act as a change ambassador for all levels of change.  Communicates changes in Company personnel policies and procedures and ensures proper compliance is followed 
• Work closely with leadership and employees to improve employee engagement, build morale, increase productivity and retention 
• Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations. Be the leader in organizational change 
• Implement and align human resources strategies by establishing accountabilities, including talent acquisition, staffing, training and development, records management, safety and health, succession planning, employee relations and retention, Affirmative Action (AA)/Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) compliance, and labor relations 
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance 
• Work with leadership team to complete talent management and succession planning efforts. 
• Complete a business wide training needs audit, create and facilitate training sessions for employees and leaders, as well as evaluating and monitoring the success of training programs  
• Provide subject matter expertise on employment engagement and development; establish and/or update programs, policies, procedures, and tools 
• Participates in committees, business strategy and special projects and seeks additional responsibilities 
• Work with broader HR Portfolio team to support HR projects and HRIS management 
• Create processes and practices to attract top talent, sources and interviews for all levels of positions 
• Attend and be an active participant in Annual Planning sessions and quarterly business reviews 
• Design and prepare job descriptions and assist with compensation benchmarking 
• Coordinate and/or conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation 
• Updates job knowledge by participating in conferences and educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations 
• Provide leadership and coaching to managers on key workplace matters such as performance management, difficult conversations, employee relations, and employee development. 
• Perform other duties as assigned 
• Attending and conducting presentations 
• Regular travel between the United States and Mexico.  Occasionally domestic and international travel.

Required Education and Experience  

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent or four to ten years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  

Minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience. 

Action oriented with a strong sense of urgency and confidentiality. 

Working knowledge of US and Mexico employee relations. 

Knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines. 

Strong Microsoft Office skills: Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook. 

Knowledge of Workday or other HRIS is preferred. 

Experience managing multiple priorities and execution of deliveries. 

Operate as an independent thinker and can work with minimal supervision. 

Bi-lingual Spanish preferred
