Temporary HR Assistant

AMBAC International | Elgin, South Carolina | Three-month assignment (Onsite Role)
Hours: 8:00 am-4:30 pm (Monday-Friday) Some Fridays remote, business permitting

AMBAC International is seeking an organized, resourceful HR Assistant to help bring structure and consistency to our Human Resources function during a period of growth. In this temporary role, you will coordinate recruiting and onboarding, organize employee records, and keep HR projects and committee work moving.

You will work closely with the Executive Advisor and People, Culture, and Talent leadership while supporting employees, managers, and the Executive Team.

What you will do

• Organize electronic and physical HR files, audit records for completeness, and establish practical filing and tracking processes.
• Coordinate job postings, candidate communications, interviews, pre-employment steps, and onboarding activities.
• Maintain project trackers, meeting notes, deadlines, action items, and status updates for HR and organizational initiatives.
• Support the CEO Committee and Employee Ownership Committee by scheduling meetings, preparing materials, recording decisions, and tracking follow-up.
• Collect project updates from leaders and maintain plans and reports on behalf of the Executive Team.
• Help coordinate training, leadership development, employee communications, and other HR activities.
• Handle employee and executive information with discretion and confidentiality.

What you bring

• Strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to proactively follow multiple priorities through to completion.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• The ability to work independently and collaborate with people at all levels in a changing manufacturing environment.

An associate degree or higher in a related field and one to three years of HR, recruiting, administrative, executive support, project coordination, or similar experience are preferred. Experience with applicant tracking, HR, project management, or electronic filing systems is also helpful.
