HR Assistant

Position Overview

Sofidel, a leading global manufacturer of tissue paper for hygienic and domestic use, is seeking a Temporary HR Assistant Intern to join our team at the Duncan, SC facility.

This temporary internship provides hands-on experience across multiple areas of Human Resources, including:

• Recruitment and onboarding
• Training support
• Employee records and documentation
• Employee relations support
• HR reporting and administrative functions

Position Type: Temporary Internship
Compensation: $16.70/hour

Job Responsibilities

• Provide support in full-cycle recruiting for the local manufacturing facility.
• Assist in screening, interviewing, and onboarding qualified candidates for open positions.
• Collaborate with temp agencies and technical colleges to participate in career/job fairs and recruitment events.
• Assist in coordinating and conducting employee orientation and onboarding programs.
• Follow-up with new hires after their first 90 days of employment to ensure smooth onboarding for each position.
• Assist in collecting data, compiling reports, and monitoring turnover.
• Support in maintaining employee personnel documents, benefit records, and required legal documents.
• Assist in executing disciplinary actions as needed under the guidance of local HR management.
• Support in the implementation and execution of training programs.
• Provide assistance in administering various HR plans and procedures for company personnel, including FMLA protocols and workers compensation-related instances.

Job Requirements

• Candidates pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or relevant field is preferred.
• Previous experience in HR or related administrative roles is preferred.
• Familiarity with HRIS, ATS, sourcing, and recruitment tools is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment.
• Bi-lingual (Spanish) language skills preferred but not required.
• Ability to build and maintain strong collaborative relationships.
