The Main Place, Inc. is a peer run mental health and wellness center that promotes health and wellness in a safe, secure, nurturing environment. Consumers have access to peer support, socialization, education and training lead by consumers sharing their lived experiences. Through these experiences, consumers are better equipped to lead healthy lives and participate in their communities.
Role Summary
As a Housing Monitor, you help maintain a stable, respectful residential setting by providing consistent onsite oversight and clear communication. This part-time, entry-level role supports safe operations during scheduled coverage in Newark, OH.
Key responsibilities include monitoring the facility and common areas, documenting observations and incidents accurately, following established procedures, de-escalating concerns when appropriate, and coordinating timely updates with the appropriate staff.
Required qualifications/skills:
- Reliability for shifts M–F and weekends/holidays (8 am–5 pm or 5 pm–2 am)
- Professional, customer-focused communication and sound judgment
- Ability to remain calm, attentive, and detail oriented
- Basic documentation skills and willingness to follow policies

A Typical Shift
You arrive, review any notes from the prior shift, and confirm the day’s coverage expectations. Throughout the shift, you stay visible and approachable, keeping an eye on the environment while maintaining a steady, professional presence. You complete timely written entries as events occur, ensuring details are clear and objective. When questions arise, you use established channels to obtain guidance and share updates. At shift end, you finalize documentation, communicate key items for continuity, and hand off a clean, organized status update to support the next Housing Monitor.
