Houseperson – Fitness Center Attendant

We are looking for a Houseperson – Fitness Center Attendant who takes pride in maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and service and enjoys working in a hospitality-focused fitness and wellness environment.

In this role, you will be an important part of the guest experience at AquaVie Fitness & Wellness Club, with a primary focus on maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and presentation of the men's locker room and Fitness Center areas.

You will help ensure that our facilities are consistently clean, safe, well-stocked, and ready for our members and guests throughout the day.

Privacy & Essential Job Requirement

This position is primarily responsible for servicing and maintaining the men's locker room within the Fitness Center. The position requires regular access to the men's locker room during operating hours when members and guests may be present, including individuals who may be changing or unclothed.

Because regular access to an occupied men's locker room is an essential function of this position and involves personal privacy considerations, a male applicant is required for this specific assignment.

What Your Day-to-Day Looks Like

• Maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of the Fitness Center and men's locker room areas to established hospitality standards.
• Cleaning and sanitizing men's locker rooms, restrooms, showers, sauna, and steam room.
• Performing cleaning and maintenance duties in the men's locker room during operating hours when members and guests may be present.
• Restocking towels, amenities, toiletries, and other supplies throughout the shift.
• Monitoring locker room and Fitness Center areas and addressing cleanliness needs promptly.
• Cleaning and sanitizing fitness equipment according to established safety and sanitation procedures.
• Maintaining floors, surfaces, windows, doors, fixtures, and other common areas.
• Emptying waste receptacles and ensuring public areas remain clean and organized.
• Resetting and organizing Fitness Center areas to maintain a clean and guest-ready appearance.
• Identifying and reporting maintenance concerns, safety issues, leaks, damaged equipment, or other conditions requiring attention.
• Following established chemical handling, sanitation, and bloodborne pathogen procedures.
• Responding to guest needs and requests in a professional, courteous, and service-focused manner.
• Working cooperatively with Fitness Center, Housekeeping, and other team members to maintain a smooth operation.
• Assisting with additional cleaning, setup, and operational duties as needed.
• Regularly access and maintain the men's locker room, including areas where members and guests may be present.
• Clean and sanitize locker rooms, showers, restrooms, sauna, and steam room in accordance with established health and sanitation standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the Fitness Center and related guest areas throughout the shift.
• Replenish towels, supplies, and guest amenities as needed.
• Follow all established safety, sanitation, chemical handling, and bloodborne pathogen procedures.
• Communicate maintenance, safety, and facility concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Provide professional and courteous service to members and guests.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when working in guest areas.

• Previous housekeeping, houseperson, fitness center, hotel, hospitality, or similar experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean, organized environment.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds unassisted.

Ability to bend, stretch, stand, walk, and use stairs for the duration of the shift.

Ability to perform repetitive cleaning and sanitizing duties.

Ability to remain on your feet and move throughout the Fitness Center and locker room areas during the shift.

Additional Information

This is a non-exempt, hourly position. A flexible schedule is required based on business needs, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts.
