About Our Family

We are a dynamic, close-knit family of four based in Laguna Niguel with one cat and a full, structured daily rhythm. Our household runs on intention — there are systems for everything, and everything has a place. One parent manages the home full-time, including homeschooling one child and coordinating care and shuttles for the other, while the other parent travels frequently for work. We have regular support in place (a weekly cleaning team and a meal prep chef on Monday mornings), but the day-to-day management of the household has grown beyond what one person can realistically handle alone.

Our family keeps a full schedule, but we prioritize staying active and connected. In our downtime, we focus on travel, outdoor adventures like hiking, dining out, and gathering with friends.

This is a home that values calm, order, and efficiency. We are thoughtful about our environment — including what we eat, what products we use, and the kind of energy we invite into our space. The afternoons belong to the kids and their activities, and the evenings are protected, quiet family time. We are looking for someone who understands that the goal is to make this home run seamlessly in the background, without adding to the mental load.

Who You Are & What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is the kind of person who walks into a space, reads the room, and gets to work. Once up and running, they require minimal management and take genuine pride in maintaining order and anticipating needs before they become problems. They bring a calm, grounded presence — upbeat without being loud, engaged without being overwhelming. They understand that working in a private home requires respecting boundaries, adjusting energy to the environment, and treating the family's space and routines with care.

They are highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable learning established systems. During onboarding, they ask clarifying questions rather than guessing; once accustomed to the role, they take full ownership and run with it. They receive feedback constructively and integrate it seamlessly. Self-directed and reliable, they take their role as a professional seriously, working independently while knowing when to check in. Discretion, healthy boundaries, and a proactive mindset are non-negotiable.

Above all, you're accountable, receptive to feedback, and genuinely invested in being a trusted member of this family's support system.

Key Qualities

  • Highly self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Systems-Minded & Highly Organized: A natural organizer who thrives on creating structure, maintaining order, and continuously improving daily household routines and workflows to keep a busy home running seamlessly.
  • Proactive and resourceful; anticipates needs and solves problems independently
  • Excellent communicator who is professional, direct, and responsive
  • Calm, steady, and a resourceful problem solver
  • Able to quickly learn the family's routines, prioritize independently, and adapt as daily needs evolve
  • Values professionalism, healthy boundaries, and supporting a private family with integrity and discretion

Key Responsibilities:

Family Support

  • School drop-offs and pick-ups as needed
  • Back-up childcare when needed
  • Prep backpacks, and snacks
  • Be familiar with the children's weekly activity schedules to support smooth daily transitions

Household Organization & Maintenance

  • Learn and maintain established household organization systems throughout the home, including cupboards, closets, craft areas, and common spaces
  • Daily resets: dishes, surfaces, light tidying, vacuuming high-traffic areas, making beds
  • Prepare the home for weekly cleaners and create punch lists for targeted tasks (refrigerator, oven, baseboards, etc.) to ensure completion
  • Seasonal clothing, décor, and bedding swaps
  • Coordinate donation drop-offs
  • Assist with event, holiday, and guest preparation
  • Help with packing for family travel; unpack and process laundry upon return
  • Indoor plant watering (once per week)
  • Replace batteries, light bulbs, and smoke detector batteries as needed
  • Bring trash cans in and out on collection days
  • Handle incoming mail and packages; break down and recycle boxes

Inventory & Errands

  • Maintain and restock pantry, refrigerator, and household supplies
  • Manage running shopping lists and place household orders (Amazon, Costco, Target)
  • Process Amazon returns and handle post office runs
  • Put away dry cleaning
  • Assist with gift shopping as needed

Meal Support

  • Prep healthy snacks for children (cut fruit, vegetables, etc.)
  • Prepare school lunches
  • Ingredient prep on Thursdays or Fridays to support weekend cooking
  • Grocery runs to local stores for supplemental items or missed ingredients and put away groceries
  • Kitchen clean-up and maintenance throughout the week

Laundry & Linens

  • Wash, fold, and organize household laundry
  • Minimal ironing or steaming as needed
  • Linen rotation: put out fresh sheets for cleaners to swap, rotate towels 1-2 times per week
  • Maintain tidy and well-stocked laundry areas

Vehicle Upkeep

  • Coordinate family vehicle drop-offs at the service center for routine maintenance as needed

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects

  • Occasional pantry and refrigerator purging
  • Garage and entryway refreshes
