Position Summary

The Hotel Self-Parking Lot Auditor helps maintain a safe, accurate, clean, and organized parking operation. Responsibilities include monitoring parking activity, processing payments, completing reports, assisting guests, enforcing parking policies, and identifying safety or security concerns.

This position is ideal for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, customer-focused, and comfortable working independently in an active parking environment.

Primary Objective

Provide professional guest service while maintaining accurate parking and revenue records and supporting a safe, clean, and efficient hotel self-parking operation.

What You’ll Do

• Monitor vehicles entering, exiting, and parking within the facility.
• Issue tickets and accurately process parking payments, validations, and receipts.
• Reconcile transactions and complete required shift, audit, and revenue reports.
• Maintain accurate parking records and promptly report discrepancies or unusual activity.
• Inspect the facility for parking violations, safety hazards, suspicious activity, and damaged equipment.
• Follow established parking-enforcement, cash-handling, safety, emergency, and incident-reporting procedures.
• Assist guests with payments, parking equipment, directions, and general questions.
• Respond professionally to guest concerns and escalate unresolved issues to management.
• Help maintain safe vehicle and pedestrian traffic flow.
• Keep the parking booth, work area, and surrounding facility clean and organized.
• Communicate clearly with guests, hotel personnel, supervisors, and team members.
• Maintain dependable attendance, professional appearance, and compliance with company and property policies.
• Complete required training and perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous parking, cashier, auditing, hospitality, security, or customer-service experience preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to process payments and maintain accurate records.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
• Basic ability to use computers, mobile devices, payment systems, and parking equipment.
• Dependable attendance and availability for the assigned schedule.
• Availability to work days, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.

Driving and Screening Requirements

If operating guest, company, or other vehicles is an essential function of the assigned position:

• A valid driver’s license is required.
• The employee must maintain a driving record that meets PMC’s standards.
• The employee may have no more than three moving violations during the preceding three-year period.
• Employment may be contingent upon completion of an applicable motor-vehicle-record review.

Applicants must have a reliable means of reporting to the assigned work location.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

The essential functions of this position may require:

• Standing and walking for extended periods.
• Frequently moving throughout parking lots, garages, booths, and hotel areas.
• Bending, reaching, using stairs, and entering or exiting parking booths.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Working indoors and outdoors in heat, cold, rain, humidity, and other weather conditions.
• Working near moving vehicles, parking equipment, noise, fumes, and pedestrian traffic.
• Remaining alert and maintaining awareness of vehicles, guests, and changing conditions.

Hours, Meal and Rest Periods, and Overtime

This is a non-exempt position. Employees must accurately record all time worked and may not perform work before clocking in, after clocking out, or during an unpaid meal period.

Employees will receive meal periods, rest periods, overtime compensation, and any other required premiums in accordance with applicable California law. Overtime must be approved in advance when required by company policy; however, all hours worked will be paid whether or not advance approval was obtained.

Employees should promptly report any missed, late, shortened, interrupted, or otherwise noncompliant meal or rest period, as well as any concern regarding timekeeping or compensation.
