JOB SUMMARY:

The Moody Brews Barista will take orders, prepare beverages, and serve customers with exceptional customer service.

POSITION AUTHORITY:

The incumbent is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out assigned duties and responsibilities, provided such action is consistent with position guidelines as outlined below.

POSITION GUIDELINES:

Position guidelines include, but are not limited to, established company and department policies and procedures and all supervisory directives.  The incumbent is expected to exercise sound, reasonable judgment and initiative, and give high priority to accuracy and details in the performance of job responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Greet customers as they arrive at Moody Brews in a friendly and courteous manner
Provide customers with information on popular coffee blends
Take orders accurately
Provide customers with price information
Brew coffee per instructions and in a timely manner
Serve brewed coffee and inform customer when their order is ready
Notify Supervisor if a guest is not 100% satisfied
Take payments for coffee sold and tender change
Ensure cleanliness and sanitization of all work areas
Make sure that coffee brewing equipment is cleaned, sanitized and maintained properly on a constant basis
Ensure that sufficient supplies are available and inform procurement officers of any shortages
Make sure that coffee blends are stored in a safe manner
Maintain inventory and order supplies daily
Any and all other duties as assigned; duties are subject to change as management deems necessary to best serve the needs of Moody Gardens

Qualifications: EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Prior experience in a similar position preferred
Must obtain TABC & Food Handlers certification prior to beginning work

REQUIRED SKILLS:

Must be reliable and responsible
Ability to exhibit maturity in the workplace and have a cooperative attitude
Strong communication and organization skills
Ability to work in a fast paced environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to remain on feet standing and walking for entire shift
Ability to work in a confined space
