Position Summary:  

Host responsibilities include greeting guests, providing accurate wait times, and escorting customers to the dining and bar areas. Position Characteristics: 

Service employees must excel in a fast-paced food service environment and have a positive attitude while providing exceptional customer service. Must present a friendly and upbeat attitude; maintain a customer-first approach. Work quickly and accurately to ensure a clean, welcoming dining environment. Think through problems and/or unexpected situations; multi-task and recognizing when customers need plates cleared or drinks refilled without being asked (be proactive). 

This is a non-exempt, hourly position which requires a flexible schedule

Schedule & Availability: Full-time positions are primarily focused on evening/night shifts. Weekend availability is required, along with availability to work major holidays. Part-time positions require availability on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, including major holidays.

Essential Job Functions: *including but not limited to*

• Warmly welcome members and guests upon arrival, providing a positive and memorable first experience 
• Efficiently handle reservation inquiries, updates, and cancellations. Create and maintain accurate reservation lists 
• Open Table
• Assign tables based on guest preferences and availability, ensuring a smooth dining experience 
• Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally, providing assistance and information to callers 

• Contact guests to confirm reservations, ensuring a timely and accurate record. 
• Assist with occasional tasks such as refilling water glasses to support our servers and maintain a pleasant dining environment 
• Assisting in running food when necessary 
• Set tables with silverware, glassware, and other items; prepare and clean dining room areas
• Collect trash from dining room, kitchen and other specified areas after service
• Dust chairs before and after meals, clean highchairs after every use, keep ice bins and buckets filled, and set-up, empty, and fold napkins and breadbasket folds
• Clean up spills, broken service ware and attend to similar problems during service with minimal disruptions to members dining
• Assist the Dining Room Captain, servers, and other employees in assuring that the Club’s policies and procedures are consistently followed
• Assist banquet personnel in set-up, provide service, and clean up after banquet functions
• Attend trainings and meetings; move tables and chairs as needed
• Re-set tables for the next meal; help maintain a fully stocked buffet; perform other appropriate busser duties as assigned
• Knowledge of the Club’s high standards for service and operating procedures
• Use discretion, work independently and as a team, and take initiative 
• Knowledge of proper table service etiquette, event set-up, table sizes and the appropriate use of space, and knowledge of the table settings for formal daytime and evening events
• Knowledge and experience working in fine dining establishments

Preferred Education and/or Experience: 

Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred, but not required 

Appearance and Grooming: 

All employees are required to follow the procedures set forth by the associate handbook regarding proper workplace appearance. Employees must adhere to their department’s specific uniform requirements.

Language Skills: 

Ability to listen and speak clearly and concisely to maintain proper, effective communication with all members and staff.

Be able to problem-solve. Establish and uphold effective working relationships with others. Work quickly and accurately, both independently and as a part of a team. Exercise good judgment, perform detailed tasks; understand, and follow written and verbal instruction.  

Physical Demands: 

This position routinely requires sitting, standing, walking, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, holding, twisting, reaching, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift at least fifty (50) pounds.  

Work Environment: 

The noise level in the workplace is usually moderate, characteristic of fine dining restaurants or country clubs. The work environment is comparable to other food service industries and restaurant environments but may include atypical or extraordinary conditions.
