Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The position is responsible for greeting restaurant patrons with a positive friendly attitude. Assures patrons are seated in a timely manner assuring that guest have a favorable dining experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Interact with all guests and team members to positively affect interactions with guests and employees, and demonstrate resiliency to deal with difficult guests in all types of business conditions. Work effectively and courteously with fellow employees.

Answering phone, greeting customers, and keeping track of seat availability in restaurant.

Responsible for assisting with bussing and resetting tables.

Responsible for following all cashiering policy and procedures particularly with accuracy and safeguarding of funds, i.e. cash, comps, credit cards etc.

Responsible for cleaning host area, stairway, and entrances to restaurant. Clear tables, move tables and chairs, dust mopping, sweeping, wet mopping, vacuuming restaurant.

Assign wait staff to service patrons in their appropriate section.

Responsible for regular and punctual attendance for scheduled shifts.

Assist in ensuring the safety and security of all guests and employees.

Knowledge of all special events and promotional activities available to guest.

Other duties as assigned.

Assists wait staff as needed.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
The position is responsible to the Restaurant Supervisor for successful performance of assigned duties.

Ability to use all equipment associated with the position, including, but not limited to, the following
Cash register
Cleaning equipment
Serving trays
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Physical demands associated with the position including, but not limited to, the following
Walking / standing – 90%
Bending / lifting –5% (up to 35lbs. without assistance)
Sitting – 5%
Restaurant and Casino environment exposed to various temperatures, smoke, dust and fumes, bright lights, and excessive noise levels. May include boat and/or floating barge. High rise hotel and atrium. Use of stairs, elevators, and / or escalators. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
ESSENTIAL JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES
1. Ability to work shifts as scheduled.
2. Ability to use a cash register.
3. Ability to read and follow simple instructions.
4. Ability to use a telephone.
5. Knowledge of alcohol awareness and sanitation/health department regulations for safe handling of food.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND TRAINING
High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
One year restaurant experience preferred
Completes all company-required training within designated time frames.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS
Ability to obtain and hold a Louisiana Responsible Vendor's card. Must be able to obtain and hold a Calcasieu Parish Bar card (leave if required) Ability to obtain and hold any and all licenses, certifications, insurance coverage or any other indemnifications which may be required by the company for the successful completion of the duties associated with this position.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly and professionally upon arrival.
- Welcome guests with a warm, friendly, and polished demeanor that reflects the restaurant's brand standards.
- Manage reservations using reservation platforms and maintain accurate guest information.
- Coordinate seating arrangements to maximize dining room efficiency while ensuring guest comfort.
- Escort guests to their tables and present menus when appropriate.
- Monitor table status and communicate with management and service staff regarding seating availability.
- Answer phone calls, handle reservation inquiries, and provide information about restaurant services, menus, and special events.
- Manage waitlists and provide accurate wait-time estimates to guests.
- Accommodate special requests, VIP guests, celebrations, and dietary needs whenever possible.
- Maintain knowledge of menu offerings, wine programs, promotions, and restaurant policies.
- Ensure the host stand, entrance, and lobby areas remain clean, organized, and welcoming.
- Coordinate with servers, bartenders, and management to ensure smooth guest flow throughout service.
- Resolve guest concerns professionally and escalate issues to management when necessary.
- Recognize returning guests and help create personalized dining experiences.
- Assist with coat check, private dining inquiries, and special event coordination as needed.
- Uphold fine dining etiquette, appearance standards, and exceptional hospitality at all times.
- Thank guests upon departure and invite them to return for future dining experiences.
- Support overall restaurant operations to ensure a seamless and memorable guest experience.
